One reason to use a 2x on top of the subfloor is to hold the soffit up and give more room over windows. Have a great weekend,Ken

Make joist header ext. finish same as ICF foundation finish
NRST8TRKR replied to bradak60's topic in General Q & A
My first thought in looking at this is about shear wall constr. We are required now to start osb at mud sill and tie mud sill, rim joist and wall framing together. seems not to work in this case. Have a great week end, Ken -
Just completed a two unit building offset just like this. Have to use party wall as Eric, has, said and then Exterior wall for offset and run exterior wall of unit a past party wall on one side and exterior wall of unit b past party wall on other side. Makes for pain for dimensioning and things jumping around. Great week end to all,Ken

Use a room divider or an invisible wall to split the rooms. Has ceiling in the dbx on the room with a flat ceiling and has no ceiling in the room with the cathedral ceiling . Then you will have to use the ceiling plane button and drag the ceiling planes in with the pitch you desire. Hope this helps. Have a great week end, Ken

Looks to me like the Sill plate in Solvers post no 4 over the conc. would be correct, don't thin the rigid foam would give much support for the floor framing. Have a great week end, Ken

Might be better to go to the home designer forum. However try clicking on the upper corner of that roof plane and pull it over and if you have a join roof planes button on your tool bar click that and see if that doesn't bring the two roof planes together. I don't have home designer so am not familiar with what it can and can not do. Sorry,Ken
