  1. You don't need SU on your system to download a model, just save it to a file of your choice and then bring it into Chief. Once you have the symbol in your plan, you can open the item to manipulate the dimensions and material (I do this frequently).
  2. Yes, you can import SKP files directly into Chief. You can edit the dimensions and materials from there.
  3. I found this on 3D Warehouse; https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/485f70f7b75331356def609f64787d03/02R-06
  4. I installed the latest driver yesterday but the crashing problem continued. As per tech support, I went back to the November driver (526.98) and everything is back to normal.
  5. I had the same problem yesterday (with both the December & January driver). As per tech support's advice, I went back to the November driver which solved the problem. I was told by tech support that they are working with NVIDIA to resolve the problem in a future driver.

  7. I'll definitely use this, thanks!
  8. Chief can do a great job with your renderings, finding the right materials & textures is key.

  11. As I've not seen any posts lately regarding Win 11/Chief problems, I thought I'd take advantage of the holiday break to do the upgrade. Am I correct to assume that all of the earlier issues have been resolved?
  12. You need to adjust the texture using the 'Define Material' tool. Read more about it here https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01006/customizing-a-library-material.html
  13. Here's one I found in my library which I downloaded from 3D Warehouse awhile back. Throw 02.skp
  14. For that, you can build it from a polyline. Take a look at one of these Knowledge Base articles for one that applies to your situation https://www.chiefarchitect.com/search/?default_tab=support&q=polyline+solids You could also download a symbol and apply the material of your choice. Lot's to choose from here https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/search/?q=blanket&searchTab=model Hope this helps - Eric
  15. You can use any of the materials in the core library (lot's to choose from in the 'Fabrics & Wall Covering' tab, including plaids) or you can import your own material https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00767/creating-a-new-material.html
  16. You have a couple of options: Open the symbol, go to the materials tab and then and then click on 'Select Material' (to the left of the preview window) and search for the material of your choice. or Search for the material in your library and then apply it to the object using eyedropper tool. Here's a link to some knowledge base article that may be helpful https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/category/8/materials.html
  17. There are bed and bedspread models in the core catalog (Interiors/Furniture/Beds) to which you can apply a plaid pattern which you can also find in the core library (Materials/Fabric & Wall covering/Checks & Plaids).
  18. I usually use a pass-thru (under the windows tab) for something like this. You can delete the sill, casing and frame.
  19. I'd be happy to review your projects, see the links in my signature for samples. PM sent.
