  1. I’ve been goofing around creating a coat of arms for my nephew to be, Jayden (expected at the end of the month). It turned out pretty cool so I thought I would share it. A pair of combative corvids seemed appropriate for a kid named Jay. But Rich, you say, how is this Chief related? Easy, Jay is a charter member of the Chief F.U.G. (Future User’s Group).
  2. Is that a retractable drink holder belt buckle you're wearing... or are you just happy to see me?
  3. I'm not sure if this is the effect you are trying to achieve, but many moons ago I made this simple walkthrough path to demonstrate one method to get a 360° exterior view. test walkthru-22.avi
  4. That's the beauty of Code Books. They are never ending.
  5. Yeah, I think a giant red rooster would do the trick. But seriously, when I try to open Alan's link I get a message saying that Chief Architect 3D Viewer is not supported by this browser. Really? I'm using Internet Explorer 11 and Chief doesn't support it?
  6. Come on Michael. How do I know whether or not I want it if I don't download it to see?
  7. I have encountered the same problem. It also would happen in a walkthrough recording. I've never been able to determine why it happened, but as I recall, the Camera view would Ray Trace properly.
  8. You are using the wrong Camera. The Training Video is using the Perspective Floor Overview Camera. You are using the Perspective Full Overview Camera. For your last issue it sounds like you are using the Mouse-Pan Camera. Try using the Mouse-Orbit Camera.
  9. From a quick look I'd say it could be Chief. But I'd bet dollars to donuts that it wasn't done with X10. Chief has made any Ray Trace results you may have achieved in previous versions useless in X10.
  10. Tim, check out the info in this thread.
  11. I don't remember where I got this symbol. See if it works for you. Hope it uploaded properly. Juniperus scoplorum 1.calibz
  12. Or you could use a pair of skinny cabinets on each side to create your needed chase.
  13. Like your Profile Photo P-C. Love nose art. Here's my favorite Thunderbolt art. It is after all a warthog.
  14. No need to beat yourself up. We've all been down that road. Dialog Boxes have an annoying ability to hide options in plain sight.
  15. Open the "Base Cabinet Specification" DBX and change the Toe Kick dimensions to zero. Then use the "Finished Floor to Bottom" field to set the cabinet to the height that you desire above the floor.
  16. 8 Seconds of mayhem? http://www.pbr.com/ Or perhaps try this link. https://www.marmoset.co/posts/physically-based-rendering-and-you-can-too/
  17. In the only plumbing plan I ever made I used a combination of elbows and tees from the 3D Warehouse with Cylinders for the pipe sections. I found them much easier to manipulate than moldings and you can easily change diameters if needed.
  18. It would be nice if Chief would let us select an area of a camera view to ray trace. Like the Windows Snipping Tool just drag a box to define the view. Until that happens you can use a window like the Library Browser to adjust the shape of your ray trace camera view to any orientation you desire.
  19. I believe the best approach is to open the X4 plan in X9. Then before you do any work on it, do a "Save As" and give the plan a different name (like whatever+X9 Version). This way you will still retain the X4 version should you ever need to open it in X4 again, and you also have a copy you can go forward with in X9.
  20. So, I think what you are saying is that "I have tried everything" actually means "I haven't tried anything". Yes, English certainly Is an interesting language.
  21. Hi Diane, are you sure that the lights aren't there? Try taking a camera view of the top of the cabinets. It looks to me like what you are seeing is the light shining on the ceiling. By default those puck lights are set to Spot lights. Try changing them to Point lights and backing the Intensity way down (like to about 5%). In the attached image the cabinets on the right have Spot lights on the top and on the cabinet on the left they have been changed to Point lights.
  22. I don't know what to say? Dude, you are so far out there that I'm going need a telescope to keep up. I'd like to say that I followed the whole process, but it's going to take more than one shot to digest all that material. I'm going to have to let that sink in for a while and then take another look. Thanks for making me feel so inadequate.
  23. I didn't save the original plan but it's easy to reproduce. I made a room from 4 interior walls and placed a table (Iron Frame Table) and vase (Sphere Vase) from the Library Browser into the room (Image-1). I changed the interior wall material from Drywall to the color Sand and changed the material of the table frame and vase to Copper Polished (Image-2). Image-3 shows the material settings for Copper Polished. Image-4 shows the Ray Trace and Image Property settings and Image 5 is the final cropped image. .
  24. Not me Lew. I'm for the rest of the world going to Imperial.
