  1. Raise the roof planes or ceiling planes to what you want, no craziness here, its all in the setup.
  2. It looks to me like it just drips off the side, you can see the roofing extend over the fascia.
  3. If I was working with your model, I would slide that symbol into the wall more leaving maybe 1 inch showing and put it on its own layer, then turn it off in plan view. I might also change the symbol to be thinner so you don't have that problem anyway. I have a window with the moldings built in to the window moldings but no keystone or angled sides, you would have to model them manually. I would do all the surrounding brick in the window molding DBX and the lintel top as a p-solid, easy to stretch for different size windows. Here is the brick surround but not exactly what you need. Not sure if it helps though. window w- brick.plan
  4. I'd open a "Go fund me " account for your Diagnosis.
  5. The longer you wait, the more the learning curve is. X7 will be coming early next year also
  6. You might find someone using a Mac and ask them, Like Scott Hall.
  7. If you happen to use this with a min 3' min. wide stairs, it would not pass the codes here also.
  8. lEW Multi main layers in walls was added to have clean wall connection, but framing of 2 walls was never a part of that.
  9. You can also create a phantom floor 2 for that space, so the bath would be on the 3rd floor. You can also adjust the floor definition to have an air space but you then need to add some cad to the sections for the wall, that is if you don't need to show any 3d framing and don't use the material list for your plans.
  10. Right now Chief will only frame one wall in a 2 wall single wall, but slide 2 walls together then both walls will frame.
  11. I usually cover that up with a p-solid tile curb, but you might want the glass to go into the floor as I have done a few of those lately. In that case follow Michael's method.
  12. The Magician software has upgraded twice since I've had one, I like Rapid mode and if I lose some time on my SSD so be it. Cost of doing business. Maybe they have fixed it.
  13. When strange things start up Re-start is #1 on my list.
  14. I use the new floor and ceiling beam tools and they stay in place even when auto framing, Chief also puts them on their own layer.
  15. You can also create a new toolbar with all your things in it using the " Place Lib. Object" tool.
  16. Back in the hand drawing days I could spit out 150 a year. They were only 2 pages then. Another Cali. guy he can relate to our struggles
  17. I'll send you the texture which includes the pattern. I'll put it here in a minute randem pattern 1.plan
  18. A render is just a standard camera view, if you then want a raytrace, you must hit the raytrace button once you have the render up. If you are doing a render make sure your resolution is the highest setting in your video card DBX then make the scene as large as you can on your screen then send the render to your layout.
  19. LA county--hate it but have done a ton there. Nice to have someone in the neighbor hood close by.
  20. Yes renders are not raytraces. If you are doing a raytrace, you can up the resolution but it will take longer to do.
  21. This is something I did that is similar to what you want. I fount this pattern somewhere but I don't remember where now
  22. Are you sure you are doing a raytrace, or a rendering?
  23. I still say the trusses will delete the rafters underneath them. Changing them to floor joists might work.
  24. I f you put all your pdf's in the plan file, then it always knows where it is, and you don't need "save in plan"
