1. They are 100 better than they were, even if there are still problems, I can usually get them to work but not on the first try.
2. I would also do it using arched doorways, then insert your column symbols..
3. I have come to realize that Chief does what they do, and I really have no idea what that might be, and I have no control of it. One thing I do know is, they do listen. For many years a lot of people here complained about Slabs needing a complete makeover and, shazam, it appeared one day. There are a lot of other things like that. I just don't know when that might be. I have a feeling Stairs might be close to the top of the list. All we can really do is suggest a feature and if enough people do it then ,it shall be, sometime in the future.
4. I also have just one plan and layout template, in the past I have had lots of different ones but it's just too much to keep them all current. The templates are pretty much generic for slab conditions but I have most of the different conditions (raised floors, etc..) off to the side of the page, so I can either delete, or just drag into the layout. The layout and plan are already linked so everything except cabinet elevations are sent to the layout, as is all camera views, and as I change my plan template the changes are already on the layout, except for sections and elevations which you must re-open and close to update. Even all section callouts are already on the plan and layout, It might be blank but it's already there and I jut move it in place, that's a lot faster then trying to create them since Chief won't let you copy them.
5. Use the skylight tool or the ceiling hole tool depending on what you are trying to do.
6. You can just make that attic wall invisible and its gone or find out why its doing that . looks to me like its a roof plane in the wrong place or its not a straight line. Its ok to delete them but they may pop back with auto attic walls on.
7. I don't think this is a stolen program, just an older one.
8. Lew, so why do you just complain about everything in a program that you say you never use much anymore.
9. I use a toolbar icon always on top.
10. I would use a lowered ceiling plane b/c it frames, soffits don't.
11. Ok here is one I did, no editing took only the time to do it ,Small file MP4 http://www.screencast.com/users/phdesigns/folders/Snagit/media/0b3f9606-7915-44ca-a6ec-373621644a08
12. Looks like your floor might not be at level "0"
13. I use current cad layer for framing plan a lot
14. Jim, its all ok, I understand and have some new knowledge of you old guys(insert laugh).
15. Dennis, I understand what you are saying.
16. Put it in a zip folder, then send
17. One way is to build it out of a p-solid and shape it any way you want to.
18. Yes 390 mb is a large file and what I create is a real time movie of the site and house. a walkthrough does what you are talking about. Try to send that 390 MB file anywhere, some apps and your internet connection might not allow it unless you are using another 3rd party program to do it-like dropbox. I use "SnagIt", they have a free version for you to test it. There are lots of other programs to use. here is something I sent to t.c. 11.21.2014-11.19.54
19. I only know what I know, and I don't know what I don't. Ok, Jim you are the inventor of the old way that was abandoned way prior to Scott's. I think Scott's is different then yours anyway
20. ok in your post it didn't have any picture to follow, I do know that someone posted a few years ago with those shutters.
