  1. I would go for the framing, although stairs would be nice.
  2. I also just use a railing wall made from the shower wall. By using a railing wall , I can adjust the top rail to be metal trim if need be, and the bottom rail as the bottom shower curb. If I need a pony wall next to the sink cabinet, then I use a p-solid for that. for the tile walls, I use a the material region tool so I can have it my way.
  3. You can also make your own symbols. Scott hall has many videos on this at chieftutor.com
  4. FYI, those stairs would be illegal in my neck of the woods. You can draw that railing wall on the flat floor and move it to the stairs and check follow stairs, that should work. You don't really need to build that out of landings, you can just make it all stairs if you want to.
  5. and if you need to, create a new layer
  6. I've got a 1000 watt power supply, does that qualify?
  7. Yes, Chief has layers that cannot be changed. If you go off the standard layers then, if you want to view others plans you could get lost in that, or no one would be willing to help or draw for you b/c they would have to learn your system. Just a thought
  8. Chief has never posted any list and probably never will, even though ,for years, we have wanted to know what's in the works. Sorry guys, but true. Sometimes they give some hints, but very rarely.
  9. You can use the layout annotation sets to set up your different page sizes. Once set up, one click, its done. All of my standard details are already in the layout plus extra details off the page, to the side for quick insertion or deletion if needed. Others like to keep their details in another plan but I like mine in the lib.
  10. They are 100 better than they were, even if there are still problems, I can usually get them to work but not on the first try.
  11. I would also do it using arched doorways, then insert your column symbols..
  12. I have come to realize that Chief does what they do, and I really have no idea what that might be, and I have no control of it. One thing I do know is, they do listen. For many years a lot of people here complained about Slabs needing a complete makeover and, shazam, it appeared one day. There are a lot of other things like that. I just don't know when that might be. I have a feeling Stairs might be close to the top of the list. All we can really do is suggest a feature and if enough people do it then ,it shall be, sometime in the future.
  13. I also have just one plan and layout template, in the past I have had lots of different ones but it's just too much to keep them all current. The templates are pretty much generic for slab conditions but I have most of the different conditions (raised floors, etc..) off to the side of the page, so I can either delete, or just drag into the layout. The layout and plan are already linked so everything except cabinet elevations are sent to the layout, as is all camera views, and as I change my plan template the changes are already on the layout, except for sections and elevations which you must re-open and close to update. Even all section callouts are already on the plan and layout, It might be blank but it's already there and I jut move it in place, that's a lot faster then trying to create them since Chief won't let you copy them.
  14. Use the skylight tool or the ceiling hole tool depending on what you are trying to do.
  15. You can just make that attic wall invisible and its gone or find out why its doing that . looks to me like its a roof plane in the wrong place or its not a straight line. Its ok to delete them but they may pop back with auto attic walls on.
  16. I don't think this is a stolen program, just an older one.
  17. Lew, so why do you just complain about everything in a program that you say you never use much anymore.
  18. I use a toolbar icon always on top.
  19. I would use a lowered ceiling plane b/c it frames, soffits don't.
