  1. Just a thought. What are your grid snaps set at,( mine are always set to 1/4")and always on. Walls will try to adhere to that setting.
  2. Not sure why, but my blocked text seems to do that with every new version and I have to unblock and check auto height and width to fix, and re-block. Most of my text block notes are in my layout template. This is an every version fix for me. What I want to know is why, when I block the text, does it un-check auto height and width? Not using Chief Blueprint, using standard Arial.
  3. I don't know about everyone but after using the Beta, I just can't go back. For those on the fence, beware, if you get the beta, you might be very angry when its time to go back. It happens to me every year so I just pay it b/c there is always something in every new version that saves me time.
  4. Very nice Glen, even simpler to do. I always wondered what those sub-sections were for.
  5. For renders, make the view fill your monitor screen before sending to the layout for better quality. Also set the card resolution to the highest you can, in the video card setup.
  6. This only goes to show us that people will do it both ways, right or wrong really doesn't apply, so give us both ways, which I believe is what Chief did.
  7. You could try to play around with the auto openings, manually enlarge them as needed. Then you won't get that extra post. Sometimes the auto openings just don't work as advertised.
  8. Change the Fill of each type of cabinet to none.
  9. People post sources here on this Forum all the time. I guess it depends on what you mean by Sources.
  10. Ah, very interesting, never seen that before.
  11. ok, just make sure they are off in whatever view you are using, not just plan view. if not than it could be a cabinet connection problem like mentioned above. I did not look at your plan
  12. Yes, turn off "Cabinet module lines" in camera view. On the Island, I would use a custom countertop.
  13. It really doesn't matter to me what he wants so I just go with the flow, on what he wants the framing plan to show. I've used him for almost 25 years now and I have all the details he wants and at this point would hate to change and have to re-vamp my system. Orientation on the plan
  14. The easy way is to just draw an attic wall there. Chief doesn't care about venting.
  15. My engineer would disagree with you, for posts. He is always having me change the 4x6 to 6x4 depending on the orientation of the post.
  16. I think you can only use Room planner
  17. Don't you mean "Room Planner"?
  18. I don't do that but, someone could do it very easily. Chief should just show it they way we use to when we drew it by hand. We aren't the only ones who look at the plans.
  19. yep, Ben that's about what I'm getting also.
  20. bullnose corners have been needed in Chief for a long time now--almost every job I do has them but I have to note it at this point.
  21. Joe, the plan view is just wrong , the full pocket should be shown so people don't put plumbing or electrical or med. cabs. in that wall.
  22. Just turn off attic walls or put them on a different layer and turn off.
