  1. Lew, maybe b/c you said you weren't upgrading here many times.
  2. I sometimes need to use 2 separate roof planes, one for the roof and one for the overhang/ eave. It does leave a line you have to remove in vector elevations
  3. Add a second floor to the structure then you can make the ceiling system out of the 2nd floor and adjust the height of the floor/ ceiling to wherever you want. If you want no walls to show on the 2nd floor then just make them invisible. Also use open below for no floor and to adjust wall height
  4. What a pain that is, glad we now have it easy
  5. For me, back in Architecture school, it took forever to do that all by hand. You guys got it easy
  6. I just want Chief to address this so we don't have this problem. Every version for as long as I can remember has this problem. I have also sent it in to TS. many times.
  7. I have no problem moving my mouse to a second monitor where I watch tv.
  8. Not a joke, a dog is a dog, and I have no problem with it, if needed. We have only had 3 dogs in our 40 years of marriage, they live long lives but when the time comes, it must be done unless you like to keep them suffering. To me that's more humane . A friend of mine runs a Humane Society here in L.A. area, he gasses 80,000 pets every year just in his location.
  9. Thanks Bill, She is the man in the house, I'm just along for the ride.
  10. You can also use a doorway to get the post where you want them without breaking the wall. If you want railing in the doorway add a short piece of railing make it "No room def" and slide it into the wall.
  11. For you Do you have a large amount of text blocks in your layout. I do and also in the my lib. For me, it seems that the text block is the problem.
  12. I use Ariel and it changes for me with every new version also.
  13. I have no problem putting a dog down, my wife does it.
  14. I have mine at 1/4 b/c a typ. stud is 3 1/2 and a 1/4" will get me anywhere I want to place it. Chief once told me that if you have a real low setting, Chief and your computer has to work harder to compute things, That might come in affect in large jobs.
  15. I hear you Larry, I just know I will upgrade mainly b/c I don't want to go back, I like the Goodies. I have lot of jobs already drawn in X7 and can't.
  16. Just a thought. What are your grid snaps set at,( mine are always set to 1/4")and always on. Walls will try to adhere to that setting.
  17. Not sure why, but my blocked text seems to do that with every new version and I have to unblock and check auto height and width to fix, and re-block. Most of my text block notes are in my layout template. This is an every version fix for me. What I want to know is why, when I block the text, does it un-check auto height and width? Not using Chief Blueprint, using standard Arial.
  18. I don't know about everyone but after using the Beta, I just can't go back. For those on the fence, beware, if you get the beta, you might be very angry when its time to go back. It happens to me every year so I just pay it b/c there is always something in every new version that saves me time.
  19. Very nice Glen, even simpler to do. I always wondered what those sub-sections were for.
  20. For renders, make the view fill your monitor screen before sending to the layout for better quality. Also set the card resolution to the highest you can, in the video card setup.
  21. This only goes to show us that people will do it both ways, right or wrong really doesn't apply, so give us both ways, which I believe is what Chief did.
  22. You could try to play around with the auto openings, manually enlarge them as needed. Then you won't get that extra post. Sometimes the auto openings just don't work as advertised.
