  1. What about for Additions, can we turn on and off specific roof planes as we need in the schedule
  2. If , temporally, you drag the front of the roof plane out say 15' or more , you won't get that behavior. Create your tie in and move it back.
  3. I use a different take. On a complete plan and having major changes, I will turn on all automatic, foundation, framing, just like if it was new and make the changes, then at some point turn off all the automatic stuff and finish. Some times you just have to redraw the whole thing, but you can charge for it, and you can copy things to the new plan to make it a lot simpler to do.
  4. I don't think that fireplaces have changed since ver. 10, but the question is hard to figure out, if you mean the fireplace that's one thing, and the chimney has always been a p-solid. If you are talking about the fireplace just make it higher from the fireplace DBX, if it's a p-solid chimney, just drag it up. It all depends on how you made it.
  5. The last patch did not solve my issue, with the recent files problem
  6. Boy, those Squiggle prices sure have gone up, I got version 6 for 69 bucks, back in the day.
  7. I was thinking he wanted something for printed media or flyer.
  8. No , I haven't seen this, ever, but I don't get pdf's from others that have ever had this problem. I would like to find out what "certain PDF's" mean.
  9. Doug, when we see this, couldn't we just re-save it in another "PDF" program that works. It would be nice to know which programs are doing this.
  10. Yes he did, Take a top view of the floor plan.
  11. Scott and I do a lot of things the same, I use a template rather than the S.A.M. method as he does. Scott is very fast and can deal with all that stuff. I am slowing down and don't want to deal with all that stuff. Scott also uses hotkeys and I don't b/c I'm can't remember all that, so I like toolbar icons.
  12. I like using the watercolor with line tool, you can squiggle the lines to please and they look good in grayscale if you print them.
  13. I usually just copy another layer-set that is close to what I want, then re-name it Reference--something, so I know its a ref. layer-set. It takes a while to set up but once done , it really done forever.
  14. All I'm saying is , you can bring it into another PDF program that has the file reduce tool and make it smaller, to see if that helps you.
  15. I still like the box scale better for me b/c I don't put the scale on the plan, I put it on the layout box view and want all the labels the same size.
  16. Maybe you can open it in Adobe Acrobat or another 3rd party program and reduce the file size without effecting the content.
  17. Are you using Chief's built in PDF generator or a 3rd party program?
  18. Looks to me like your stairways somehow got dis-connected from the floor or a wall, thus losing a room definition so the floor fills in.
  19. Kind of looks like my stuff except I use the box scale, I still don't get what Doug was talking about back then.
  20. Tommy, I think it always worked the way I want it forever, If they fixed anything, I don't know what it is.
  21. I'm with Joe and Scott on this too, I use the box scale on everything sent to the layout, never been a problem. I guess if they ever fix it i'll find out but I like it now don't change it.
  22. I move the labels where I want them, then look at the numbers ,and they will be there for you to copy and put on every label.
  23. Double bottom plate on a block stem wall used to be a bug in the program, not sure if it still exists, but it can be fixed, I just forgot how. You may have to bring up a wall detail of each wall delete the bottom extra plate and use retain wall framing.
  24. Wow, there must be some reason for your slowness, other Mac users are not having that problem. I know Scott's on vacation, not sure when he gets back.
  25. I really don't want anyone in the field scaling anything on my plans, If you use the lib. you should at least draw it to scale so it looks correct even though it may not be to scale on the detail pages. Also provide plenty of dimensions as needed so they don't have to scale them.
