  1. Turn off auto floor ceiling framing and just delete the joists you want. But you can't turn it on again, so do it when your close to finish. Are you sure there isn't a wall above those double joists? code bearing or not..
  2. They better be working on it and put out the fix ASAP. This could effect everyone.
  3. In plot lines the lines seem to work better b/c you can use your line weights from any layer-set you want. Using live view, you cannot use line weights, you have to use what Chief gives you, whatever that is. for elevations ,I use plot lines with shadows
  4. I have a love my new 3d Connecxion mouse for navigating in 3d. Works pretty good. Still learning b/c it's very touchy.
  5. I don't have to copy /paste any schedules b/c they are already in my template layout, ready to go.
  6. I have found that with any version ( beta or full) there wasn't anything that I couldn't work around to fix.
  7. All the views sent to the layout are purposely blurry for the speed of the program, when using live update always. If not it would slow Chief down. When you print it will be high resolution.
  8. Then I presume you know what they are used for ? please enlighten us--bro.
  9. Still don't know why we have this, does it show anything, other than some lines?
  10. All depends on how good your Attorney is and the judge. Of course any time you go to court, you lose. I guess you would have to see the copy.
  11. If its a " no room def" wall then there won't be a very small room between the walls.
  12. I had to use the overhang layer once to get the square footage of them for lot coverage . got it from the materials list.
  13. Did you check the web site for a download ?
  14. Then you have to change it back b/c they can' afford it.
  15. I never figured out what that overhang layer did anyway. Do you know? I'm not sure what changed
  16. I use different folders for each Chief version, then by customer name. only a few times have I had the same name in a folder. if so, then I just include the city in the name ( I work in about 50 cities). Like "Chief X8 jobs".
  17. Sheet size and scale can changed in the plan, file-print-drawing sheet setup, also. Then send to your layout
  18. Maybe it's different in California, never ask the A&E boards, they will give you their skew on it. Ask an attorney that does this. Lew ,please look at "Case law" not what someone has told you.
  19. Nothing is unique anymore unless you are at Disney. I have changed A couple of Joe's macro's, But he taught me how.
  20. Marc, I'm not saying you just take a Design and run with it. you change it, And you and I know, we can do it. And yes my Attorney is one of the top Attorneys in California construction, also works for Architects. Big projects. I'm willing to listen to him rather than anyone here on this forum. He just says anything I do he could beat anyone if that occurred, He told me don't worry about it. He owes me anyway.
  21. Lew, nothing is unique anymore. I have talked to an Attorney about this. If you make some changes, doesn't that make it a different unique. What about room additions, I have done hundreds with only interior remodeling yet I have to draw the whole house over and over again, looks just like the original, with kitchen and bath remodels . No one has ever sued me over drawing it. I also invite them to spend thousands of dollars taking me to court only to lose the case, and also have to pay my Attorney's fees. So Lew, you are just Dreaming. You actually believe the scare tactic's going around.
