  1. Wasn't looking at the building, I'm not sure he was asking if we could do those walls (not). Raytrace--no problem edit: after further Review, he is asking about the shape (Walls?)
  2. I also use Adobe and see the problem you are having (the graying of some parts) but it seems to print well, try to up the resolution in Adobe, I use 650. Not sure what's causing it.
  3. We also have new stainless materials in the online libs.(SSA) for download. that work good
  4. You can also copy paste between versions of Chief
  5. I have a Nephew in Brazil, they do not build residences like we do here, some have tree limbs as rafters, tough to model, but I'm sure it can work. I designed a home for him and asked him about codes, he said what codes. walls -block, water well, no electrical, outhouse, roof -who cares, sinks drain to outside, just build on the fly. I'm sure the closer you get to civilization it gets better. He does not live anywhere near any good size city.
  6. There are lots of video's on Chief's website with "SSA" . You can get going very fast watching those.
  7. I have been keeping tabs on room planner and it has gotten a lot better with each new version, and almost there. It could be a really good measuring device with a few tweaks, espically for us eye challenged people, it's even hard to read my own writing at this point.
  8. Room planner has no way to measure the property outside the house, I think this is important. It would be nice to draw a box for the property line, adjust any angles that property has, and dimension to it. Also notes should be easier b/c ,I add lots of notes and take a 100 pictures when I measure for a remodel. When room planner has that then I'm in, except for the pictures, I can do that with a camera.
  9. I think we all, at sometime, feel like you do, Michael. I just move on and chalk it up to "It's Their problem and glad I don't have that disease". I'm glad there are people here, like you ,to tell the story differently, Maybe then they will get it. It's all about everybody helping everybody.
  10. Sorry , I didn't see your post, I have been doing this for years, at least since it came out, didn't get the idea from you.
  11. Door swing is allowed, 24" required in front of a toilet here.
  12. If you have trusses and want stick framing, just install your trusses and frame it, the places you don't have trusses will fill in with stick framing automatically but beware if you have any tie-ins over trusses, you will not get any framing for the tie-in so you have to do that manually. been trying to get Chief to fix that forever. do it last thing when you don't need to auto frame anymore or you will lose your hard work
  13. In the layout, go to tools, layout, reference files, and browse to the plan you want associated with the layout
  14. I see he didn't post the plan, Chop, How did you see the problem??
  15. Some Builders really only care about the price you give them, but some want Quality plans Cheap, take your pick
  16. This is the easy fix http://screencast.com/t/WADmsOo9fT2q
  17. You can always just save them to your lib. also.
  18. You need to delete the drywall under the rafters in the roof DBX to get exposed rafters, also delete soffits.
  19. Foundation walls are just like any wall, you can change them at will, make a room, if you watched any of Scott's videos, you could see he just copies normal walls and pastes them on the foundation level. Even using a mono slab, the footings are changeable.
  20. I have used it on interior walls where the drywall extends down over a conc. wall, you just have to be aware where the main layer is and flip the wall if you have to. It only extends down on the main layer. Never done "ICF" walls, try it and see
