  1. Revit Comparisons.. For those of you that compare this product to revit(aside from their other professional tools), I will be doing a live stream in the next few months in attempt to hit an 8 hour design and condoc with editorial grade renderings...yes, within 8 hours. Revit is a joke for blue-collar residential, if you are comparing the two, then you are likely unaware of the various power users here and their associate youtube channels
  2. POST 90 #freesymbolfriday is early just to bring a bit of cheer surrounding the new subscription model in Chief Architect at The Rabbitt Design Feed I was feeling extra generous this week so I've packed this theme full of goodies from my current trip in Costa Rica. Let's celebrate that such scenes are possible in this software Includes A Beach Backdrop 3 Original Art Pieces by the local artist @stephenkahn A modern thin framed bezel photo frame with a shot of took of some cactus A custom stone wall tile A custom printed concrete floor tile A rough Sawn Beam Material a Chevron Bamboo Material You can get it at www.rabbittdesign.net/symbols or direct at https://1drv.ms/u/s!ArIPOe8v1SrkndsJGm5CWdIct6o4_g?e=veUaef Follow this link for the Rabbitt Design FB Feed for additional content: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3195137837435026/permalink/3207137419568401/ CLICK ME TO GO BACK TO THE INDEX!!!
  3. I think ethan ashby said it best for me...without any roadmap, this news just feels like a betrayal. I'm hoping this leads to better things, and I am a big brand advocate but he's right, we shouldve been given some more context. The optimist in me even feels like big news is around the corner but wont be shared until after Jan 10, which is not how I do business personally..be open and transparent. All conjecture of course
  4. Absolutely, can click on links in my signature for various methods of contact or email at renerabbitt@gmail.com
  5. Just a wild hunch.. More professional tools are coming to further divide the home designer line and the premier line. I would guess that the home designer line will be sufficient for almost all of the hobbyists and occasional tradesmen. I lost a project to a hobbyist last year, no more. You want me to compile your home designer project in premier, great, can do for you, win win. Maybe what I have always wanted for this industry is coming true...collaboration. Absolutely zero reason why you shouldn't hire someone like @M-Reed or @ericepv or @rgardner of the world where the cost-benefit creates additional margin and your timelines are increased in a market short on reputable and accessible designers. Does the 12-project-a-year intermediate drafter need 20% improvement that an intermediate technician might realize in speed from the premier line...No. Use the HD line, its priced accordingly Want the best, pay for it, same as any other product Will I need to repair models done by other technicians overselling their services..yes, but not as often. Looking forward to seeing the user base get more serious. Let's advocate for change. The industry could use an overhaul and I am happy to be more distinguished from the casual user. Funding for the premier line, from my understanding, opinion and perspective comes in part from the sales of the home designer line that moves a lot of units per year. This is a troubled model for business, a few steps away from robbing Peter to pay Paul. This means that Chief has always operated solely on historical data for development, knowing what they could roughly afford, as opposed to hard numbers for their consumer base. Chief is going to need info and demographic sales numbers + more to develop cloud computing, AI, instancing and proxies, polycrunching, BIM and more if they intend to stay relevant, and if you have followed anything in the development industry..this is no small task. Thus far they have relied on infrastructure similar to an established SDK, or maybe related to open source forking etc. This software is becoming more specialized, so they will need more funding for development as we move through this decade into web3.0 and Metaworlds. This announcement is a small hiccup in the automation that is to come.
  6. This decision will benefit me from the development of long awaited feature requests through dependable budgeting for Chief. This decision will benefit me by thinning my low-budget, undercutting, competition on contract work. Historical data shows me I am 500% faster than I was in X8...I have reaped benefits through increased margin for years...I don't love financial change, but a bit of pragmatism and a quick glance at your books should sit ones head back on straight. Also...a good CPA should get you lined up and straightened out
  7. @ChiefArchitect What about Home Designer users that are wanting to upgrade next year...do they pay legacy ssa or is that considered a new plan?
  8. You can just download my free grass texture from the free section of my site if you like. It usually looks better than the chief offerings even with modification https://www.rabbittdesign.net/symbols
  9. If you use a combination of polylines for hips, that report to a custom schedule, as well as outlets, in conjunction with custom fields in your OIP, you can make an auto generated panel schedule and could even do load calcs using macro
  10. You are not using Chief's send to layout by its intended and designed use. Is there a reason you are sending as an image? Simple solution is send as something other than an image, which would be preferred. Also consider putting your specs schedule in a CAD detail and send to layout

  12. Is there a way to make sure there is a backup payment option to our accounts?
  13. I haven't messed with my setting in a while so I may be missing something but none of the line-weight changes I am applying in a vector view elevation are showing up. You can see when I select something that the line weights show up. You can also see that I have line weights turned on what am I missing?

  15. I have a fireplace stack in my free symbols on my website. Its built from two cabinets...would make it very easy to accomplish this
  16. Yes we can do this, not sure what about the question is making people say that we cannot..maybe something I am missing. This does create a step in the elevation but you can shrink your layout box to the step and accomplish what you are after
  17. Oh apologies, I couldve shrunk them down
  18. I’m not sure what the story is on this one, I asked no questions, but it is from one of the members here, not sure if they want to be tagged or not, I have to ask
