I did a tavern.

 

There was engineering, and the engineer called the inside of the

tavern the "Assembly Area".

 

He was probably referring to an Assembly Occupancy Classification (Groups A1 through A4) which defines occupant load so you can calculate all sorts of good stuff like egress widths, fixture counts, structural loads, etc.

I've done a Bar, I've also done a Restaurant with kitchen, dining room and bar including all the kitchen/bar equipment.

 

I'm considering a restaurant interior design project that has been offered to me however I have never done anything like this and don't really know where to start. Im assuming by your post that you found the software capable of everything that was needed?

Designing the rooms and floor plan on restaurants /bars is the easy part. It's the code check stuff that gets complicated (occupancy, separation where req's, exiting requirements, etc. ). I would consider talking with your planning department before you agree to taking on the work.
