kwhitt
Dimension Markers in CAD Details keep returning even after I delete them multiple times (see attached). Is there a way to delete them permanently? I've only noticed this behavior in X17. It never happened in older versions. Thanks, Kevin

Michael_Gia
X17 is the buggiest version in a long while. I really hope they fix all the crap under the hood in the next iteration. 2

ComputerMaster86
I might be experiencing this in X17 if it's the same issue. I have cross-shaped (+) marker's that keep reappearing even if I delete them. They appear randomly in random spots in 2D CAD Details. 1

This is a big issue as I am unable to make decent elevations. I only installed X17 about a month ago. I am surprised that no one has reported this previously. They usually will reply pretty quickly.
MollyNDG
I have this same issue in CAD details. You close it, then open it later to find more of them have popped up.
para-CAD
I only see this when using point to point dimension. I’ve been told that that dimensioning tool has to have something for the end of the dimension to snap too and it generates the marker. It sucks that the marker can’t have zero size and it also sucks that sometimes when you delete the dimension the marker stays. I don’t know if this is an easy fix for them but at least in preferences you should be able to set the dimension marker as a super small size as opposed to if you’re trying to place a regular marker

Sounds like others are having the issue.
Michael_Gia
you know you're a redneck, when your detail plans have a gun rack... (sorry, couldn't help myself) 2
DBCooper
I *think* you will get point markers added automatically anytime the dimension line loses the original object it was dimensioning to. For example, if your dimension is attached to a cross section line, and the program regenerates the cross section line, then it will get replaced with a point marker. This is why you don't really want to dimension to cross section lines. My guess is that the dimension lines in your gun rack detail aren't actually locating what you want them to. You might want to post your plan and someone might be able to give you a better answer as to why it is happening. As far as this happening more often in X17, I hadn't really noticed it myself. I would suggest that you report it to Chief though if you ever want them to change it.

I think this issue is more than dimensions being pulled to cross section lines, I have very intentionally fixed all dimensions in a CAD detail, closed and reopened it, only to have the point markers show up again. I wasn't having this issue in X16. It also is not a point to point dimension tool issue, the dimensions are pulling to lines. Seems like its something that needs to be reported. DrawingABlank
Not sure it is related, but I am fairly certain a couple dimension lines attached to items not actually displayed. (x17) It took a while to figure out. Forgot to look into more after. I'll go back and try to replicate it. Just have to remember what plan and elevation. Maybe something similar is happening? I had a similar experience, I don't remember having the issue in prior versions of Chief Architect Premier. I don't remember for X16 if I was experiencing the issue. But the issue seems prevalent in X17 in CAD Details. Two things for me... I never use the Point to Point Dimension tool (I sort of hate that tool.) and I am always snapping dimensions to objects displayed on screen. I just reported this to chief and included two different plan files with specific CAD Detail examples. I will see what they say. .
