  1. Make a tall cabinet- going to need 48 wide at least- in general tab -type pick corner-bottom of that tab should say diagonal. Resize top door, split bottom section so you can place two appliances-change first section to appliance-go to library pick your microwave. Change bottom section to appliance-library- oven May need to resize the heights and add a drawer to the bottom. NOTE that the NKBA guidelines call for that a tall cabinet in that condition be recessed 3" from the adjacent runs which may mean more configuration -change depth, may need it wider- want some clearance on the sides of the oven.
  2. I've run into it though not because of library. Have had some issues with symbols made from psolids crashing it-support reproduced that. Get the occasional error that it encountered a problem but doesn't crash/close. I save and close though. This seams to be when I'm behaving badly -did something I shouldn't, always have several elevations, two or three perspectives, a layout, and at least one plan-along with other nonesense on the machine ...
  3. I've had no luck getting LEDs but can get the light look-this may get you started and a crappy quick RT. I've also had trouble with glass shelves so I delete the shelves and put in just an outline made from a psolid.
  4. I'd be interested in discussing for renders, walk through, materials, symbol, interior (cabinets lans details, electric, interior scheduels...), not final condocs. In Ulster County, there often and have remote capability. Gave a call this a.m. mark@markjamesandco.com
  5. GE has a filler kit for some of it's OTR microwaves-maybe some others do as well. http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-specs/PVM9179SKSS I've never used it and never will- none have sufficient CFM for a 36" range.
  6. I've had schedules "grow" on their own. Can't remember exactly and not at machine for a few days. The cause was something during editing. Might have been a carriage return in the labels.
  7. There is a new bonus distressed and glazed catalog in Chiefs 3D library- pretty nice ....and timely for me as I have a rare distressed section in a kitchen.
  8. ?Is 3D view defaults, camera bumps off walls checked ? Never mind, just got to machine and checked, has no effect. I can't reproduce what you have.
  9. Change the vertical offset to minus the molding height-then you can adjust from the outside. I sometimes convert one to a symbol-with a fill-gives more options for manipulation and then can show in plan.
  10. Not available in the DBX, use custom countertop. Note that you want to create the custom top for a single cabinet or you will get extra nodes that make extending the overhang a PIA.
  11. Attached is a png from your pdf. Recently switched computers and don't have all my photo progs installed yet so couldn't make the background go away. But see if this helps. I didn't have any trouble with the plan once I inserted the pdf into it? screen shot attached.
  12. pdf is not included in the plan or zip file. Have to either back up entire plan or include it in the zip. I convert pdfs to png first- less strain on the system and more control ahead of time. Be glad to do that for ya if I had the pdf.
  13. Magnet to find fasteners. Possible they're screwed with bungs.
  14. Wired it has advantages, I'm most often wireless where it's reputation is spotty. I started upping to Intel cards 4 machines ago, no regrets.
  15. The 980m runs Chief well, cpu has an integrated chip so be sure to configure Chief to use the 980. Price is what I'd expect If there's an option to switch the Killer card to Intel I'd do that unless you do online gaming and stay wired. Usually only $15-20 bucks.
  16. I use 55 degrees and shortened the "clip surfaces within" down to 2"-no problems, better than it used to be.
  17. Yeah, builders like to make that distinction. Cabinet manufacturers use "mullion" almost exclusively. Dictionary allows either http://www.onelook.com/?loc=lemma&w=mullion.
  18. I make my own-posted one plan file "kit" some time ago. Here https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/6007-4-pane-mullion-cabinet-door/
  19. It ends up in the cabinet schedule and I don't see a way to get it into the Room Finish schedule. Can't add sub category to that schedule and blocking an item doesn't offer the option to get it there either.
  20. For whichever dimension default you are using-under locate objects. It may be that was changed, or the annoset was changed and uses a different set of dimension defaults.
  21. Could be done turning into symbols in two generations, one with stretch zone left, stretch 9"-convert to symbol. Set stretch zone on the right for second symbol, stretch again. Have used this, symbol generations idea a few times recently.
  22. and to center the sink temporarily drop a cabinet of the correct size in front and aligned to the side- or better yet float both sinks- first float one sink, center to temporary cabinet- copy and paste in place both- reflect about the large vanity- then select the sinks and center front to back on the large vanity. Delete temporary cabinets. If you have keyboard shortcuts set for copy and paste in place, and reflect about object it is really fast.
  23. Absolutely true Dermot. But if you want the cabinets height to be correct in a schedule you have to use custom tops ... and unless I'm missing something it is the only way to avoid nodes at each cabinet when you want to edit the overhand for a section?
  24. One more thing, we have template plans for each brand/construction (inset, frameless, full overlay) that already have the most commonly used cabinets (with mods & accesries) in them. Move, resize, copy as needed.
