  1. As an alternative to full Adobe I use Bluebeam PDF Revu, less expensive. Combine, rearrange, optimize...my second favorite program. If I didn't have that I'd join Perry.
  2. Scott it's the scale as David points out- attached shows exported layout re-imported with lines weights the way you see them, next to it is same file-resized in cad then imported.
  3. You can one page at a time-export current view-dwg. Line weights do save. Will go to model space in cad not to layout, at the scale used in the layout NOT to world scale. I use plot lines to begin with so don't know about live views. I check em in TurboCad Deluxe (cheap) can use Double Cad (free). Always have to size to extents to see it and need to have a white background-or select all and change the line colors.
  4. I use arch blocks to get items that are not cabinets into the schedule. Only rarely will I use it for a cabinet, maybe two. Had tried it once for a two tone kitchen. Problem is half the dimensions will be correct, but a perpendicular wall will have length and width backwards. Makes too much clean up.
  5. If it's an island in one style with only a cabinet or two and some parts-I use room dividers around the island. Then block psolids with labels, included in the schedule for parts and another cabinet. You can mess with the psolid to get correct dimension in the schedule or overwrite it on the schedule with a filled text block. If it is wall cabinets in one finish and bases in another then I use two plans. One complete (working plan) with all cabinets but walls not included in schedule. Second plan just for schedule -save as, delete base cabinets (or don't include), include wall cabinets in schedule-change or add letter for schedule callout. That gets you the two schedules. For prints I've done it a couple of ways. Lately I've taken to just manually adding the second set of callout labels to the first plans views. That way it is clear where the correct sizes are and the labels don't change. You just have to update the second plan so the schedule matches any changes you make. Delete the wall cabinets in the second plan, copy and paste place the updated wall cabinets, adjust schedule numbering if needed. This means I always have a live schedule for the bases and a live schedule for the wall cabinets (so long as you update) and always work in one plan. In the past I've tried using overlapping floor plans/elevations in layout either with one live plan and a cad detail, one showing wall cabinets the other bases. Also tried a cad detail with and only showing the callouts. Right now I'm sticking with manual callouts, live working plan, second plan for schedule.
  6. FWIW- Open Office Writer allows larger sizes-at least to 36 x 48. Can read and write to Word formats but likely lose the size if importing to MS.
  7. No awning tool-Window DBX- treatment-exterior millwork above ..... Here is a go at what you started-may help you get there, be a lot easier if the original was made in correct orientation. I get confused rotating symbols and the like. Awning My Attempt_a start.plan
  8. Names- Bar Hardware_Short; ..._Short Vertical; ..._Long
  9. Ha-I only read your post and went and rummaged around looking for why you couldn't see em, didn't realize that they weren't there...doh Forged hardware.calibz
  10. My assistant made these up for a job we are working- nice match to Richelieu forged iron hardware, second client to use em so here.
  11. Chiefs built in pdf printer allows printing to scale directly from layout. It also allows you to control the DPI. All that should be enough for plans. If you need more than that or are doing images then you might want another option.
  12. Rod thanks will give that a go next time.
  13. Done a few 3dpdf's from chief. Tested a few kitchens, used for a couple of complicated cabinets. I export model, open in Turbocad Deluxe, create 3D pdf with $50 plug-in, annotate and create views in Bluebeam PDF review. Already had TCad and BB. All that part is easy. Textures, colors have been tricky to plan. Tried to export a portion of a model with both wall surfaces and framing on separate layers without success.
  14. Create in Excel, turn on borders, copy, paste into Real Text in Chief-remains editable.
  15. Can control images better with File, export picture-increase DPI, import picture into layout. Shadows- depends on which lights are on- for added lighting (3d-lighting) be sure to select soft shadows, often turn off some of the actual lights in a room (kitchens where there may be many) or select no shadows, often need to mess with materials properties. In particular I make ceilings more emissive.
  16. What Sherry said- and or. Be sure that the NVIDA control panel also lists multiple monitors. I have no issue on the win 10 machine BUT it came with 10. It does not have an intel card so no optimus, I keep sleep disabled, I did not enable G-Sync, and I use Ultra Mon to control monitors. On the win 8 machine I set UltraMon to use the Nvidia Card since you can't change which card the displays themselves use (actually I have that set so everything uses the Nvidia card.) Might try some of those. UltraMon (and a few similar programs are available as trials and cheap to buy) I've also seen talk of using NirSoft's free MultiMonitor Tool to solve win 10 monitor issues.
  17. Open cabinet-hit "F1"-select "general" to see where to configure shape of cabinet, select "front side back panel" will get the information on how to adjust cabinet faces and such. There is nothing listed anywhere about reversing the cabinet to get what you want. It is a matter of thinking about how to get what you want from what the program will do. Attached a sample for you.
  18. Angle front, make blank, custom back, rotate, if I remember correctly may need to fake toe space. IRL I'd just use a cabinet front, filler or shelves.
  19. Yes, DBX is dialogue box. Layersets can help, I use those in conjunction with annosets. You may also want to adjust -the "first line offset" for automatic dimensions in the setup tab; and settings in the "extensions" tab- try proximity fixed and adjust to suit
  20. I should have mentioned that- using auto dims in a second view will delete the first set. If you want a second set of auto dimensions you have to copy the first ones, then do the second set, then paste in place. You will have a few that need to be deleted after that.
  21. Perhaps the easiest way to get a full kitchen dimensioned would be to use auto dimensions- (NOTE-I don't like the NKBA auto dimensions since you can't control anything AND they are available in Interiors but auto-elevation are not bad. To have the vertical dimension be next to the cabinets in a view that spans rooms as yours does- you can use a back clipped section instead of a wall elevation. Set your defaults to locate what you want, be sure to look at what structural elements the default is set to include- you won't want them all. Then pick a side for the dimensions. Open the dbx for the view and check clip to sides, drag the sides of the camera in until the view just includes what you want dimensioned, then click auto elevation dimensions. You can then go back and revert the view to the width you want and the dimensions will stay where they were when in the side clipped view. If you need more vertical dimensions in another area repeat the process in another area. If you need dimension to wall you drag the extra little diamond over. There is no way around having to change default settings for "locate objects" in the interior version. Auto Dims do eliminate the pesky message box but I've gotten used to it when doing manual dims. With Premier you can use annotation sets to have varied "locate objects" settings for manual dimensions but not for auto. Annosets are a big reason I upgraded to premier. Might be worth downloading a trial version AND reading up on what they do (especially in the forum) to see if it is worth it. For a while I had one Premier license and one Interiors seat-we just dimensioned in Premier. There are other advantages to working in Anno-sets though so I upgraded the second license.
  22. Make a tall cabinet- going to need 48 wide at least- in general tab -type pick corner-bottom of that tab should say diagonal. Resize top door, split bottom section so you can place two appliances-change first section to appliance-go to library pick your microwave. Change bottom section to appliance-library- oven May need to resize the heights and add a drawer to the bottom. NOTE that the NKBA guidelines call for that a tall cabinet in that condition be recessed 3" from the adjacent runs which may mean more configuration -change depth, may need it wider- want some clearance on the sides of the oven.
  23. I've run into it though not because of library. Have had some issues with symbols made from psolids crashing it-support reproduced that. Get the occasional error that it encountered a problem but doesn't crash/close. I save and close though. This seams to be when I'm behaving badly -did something I shouldn't, always have several elevations, two or three perspectives, a layout, and at least one plan-along with other nonesense on the machine ...
  24. I've had no luck getting LEDs but can get the light look-this may get you started and a crappy quick RT. I've also had trouble with glass shelves so I delete the shelves and put in just an outline made from a psolid.
  25. I'd be interested in discussing for renders, walk through, materials, symbol, interior (cabinets lans details, electric, interior scheduels...), not final condocs. In Ulster County, there often and have remote capability. Gave a call this a.m. mark@markjamesandco.com
