I can get up to a 20M plan but it looks like thats as fast of service as our carrier here will provide Michael: I've been happy with 15 mbps downloads of very large files is very fast never felt a need for more speed I download large books etc and time is minimal - 500 MB+ files Lew
-
I have Time-Warner cable rated for 15 mbps I got 12.97 the first test then 15.8 for the next two there are two more speed levels available if I want to pay more there are slower speeds if I want to pay less Lew

maybe draw the outline of the bent in a CAD elevation, then convert to a solid, copy at your preferred spacing, and then drop in more solids for the girts, etc. Hmmm, I'm probably wrong about this ... working off memory here but back in the days of ver 10, maybe even X1 lots of shapes and symbols had to be created in Sketchup then imported into Chief starting with X2, I think, the need for Sketchup was reduced dramatically versions prior to X1 are not able to import Sketchup files Lew

the Disto type laser measuring devices can be used without room planner or any other software they are used instead of a tape some say a tape is never needed again I find it easier to use a tape - sometimes - for small distances - say about the length of my arm spread my Disto's min distance is 9 inches, max is 300' Lew
-
Larry: I would think the issues that you mention would be the same for a tape also Lew
-
I always need to make allowances for what was measured as to what dimension I will use in plan...... an adjustment of an inch or two Scott: Interesting.... In a prior thread about dimension overrides being needed some of the senior chiefers indicated that all one needed to do was measure accurately etc the implication being that some of just didn't know the proper way to measure a house Lew

I personally do not 'see' how it would be easier to use a Disto over a measuring tape and I can easily imagine results that were worse than using a tape measure - way worse Larry: Why way worse ??? I have used a Disto since 2005 and can't imagine trying to do a house by myself with only a tape I do use a tape for tiny distances but the Disto is such a breeze and so accurate at 1/16" for 300' using Disto Plus - simpler models are 1/4" for 100' sending those dims to a room planner app via Bluetooth is easy too I did it back in 2005 with a Dell Axim If I wasn't retired I would be planning to get an Android with the Room Planner app I would not be considering an Apple - too PC focused to change Lew

since CA's last fix, I have been logged in for months now Lew

I suspect Joe is using Molding Polylines unless they count as CAD also ? Lew

Bill: I'm not much of a Trek fan I watch sometimes so wasn't sure if they gave "credit" I didn't know about Shakespeare being first Lew
-
I just find it hard to believe that we would end up with INTERIOR WALLS that are exactly 4-1/2" thick (2x4 studs with 1/2" drywall each side) Scott: now try an older house, sometimes one prior to 1900 there will discrepancies all over the place hence my comments in a recent thread about dimensions and overrides no need to debate that issue here... just pointing out the "obvious" Lew

Bill: also Sherlock and Shakespeare http://www.funtrivia.com/askft/Question39112.html Lew

Never use Level 0 for a Basement Joe: CA would disagree with "never" this is what they have been doing since I started with ver 9.5 watch CA's videos There have been two schools of thought on this topic my understanding is neither method is "mandatory" Personally, most of my basements have been on floor 0 but I can see merits for both methods and don't have a "favorite" but I disagree with Doing that is just asking for trouble don't use Level A for a Floor just for clarity - it is impossible to have rooms on floor A Lew
-
There are way too many things to remember when one of the outbuildings changes: wall angles, absolute elevations relative to main house, floor hgts, defaults, etc. Jim: this has been my experience Lew
-
It's a real simple operation ( about $2000 ) and it eliminates the blurriness and glare Joe: I just had both eyes done and while I have much sharper vision I also have "clouds" they then shot laser beams at the clouds but still have many more surgery and laser were both painless and no issues there I suffered from glare before and still do Lew
-
yep, probably a video card issue contact CA's tech support to discuss solutions Lew
-
I would like a "Lock Layer Button" in CA while we are wishing Chief can lock layers already the user can't make changes to locked layers however, when you do actions chief may find a need to change something on a locked layer it would be nice if chief would pop a warning - "should I proceed" Lew
-
Blake: you can probably use the free version of Sketchup to "explode" then save as separate symbols before importing into Chief Lew
-
Not as well as an automatic solution Robert: I agree "workarounds" are like fish or house guests after about 3 days (releases) they begin to "stink" or become a PITA .... Lew
-
would a primitive geometric triangle shape work there ? Lew
-
Robert: I agree CA's method is understandable my advocacy is they has the info available for the other "methods" so why not create a schedule with the various info so that we the user can choose which data we need for our client Lew
-
Robert: it is more than variation there are other "official" methods Lew
