  1. Nice job Rob. However I wonder if you could use moldings for the rope tiles and areas if there was a field of tile. If there were special tiles I do understand why you would need a single PSOLID for each tile. I can understand how valuable what you are doing to avoid any confusion between owner and contractor. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Todd, if you watch this vid, and give all of your framing members a different color, I will see if I can help out here. I tried to do it but I don't have the time to get the framing members colored. Coloring all framing members is very helpful in understanding what is going on.
  3. CA has finally figured it out, use same tool for many different purposes but give it a unique name and it is no longer a work around. Brilliant. BTW Graham, nice catch, and some nice input coming from you, thanks.
  4. Hello, anybody there, isn't there already a thread discussing this? https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/4038-glass-shower-walls/ Is there a perfect solution yet? I don't think so.
  5. Well, that goes without saying. What I do think is important is to explain why one thinks a particular approach is better than another. To say, "I like my approach better" is useless dribble. There are a many ways to accomplish a task, but for pete's sake, let's talk about advantages and disadvantages of each approach. And as far as the competitive nature goes, are you kidding? Getting rid of the competitive nature is what it is all about, it is the competitive nature that drives us to come up with better solutions. Let's check our feelings and our egos at the door and teach each other and learn from each other so we as a group will become more successful in our businesses. Eliminate the competitive nature? Let's just hand out a bunch of first place trophies.
  6. Nope, in fact I do not remember my last crash.
  7. Well, now I am confused. There is a toggle button to toggle shelves on and off? Why would anybody want that. Either they are there or they are not. And if they are there, why would anybody want them so deep that they pop through the from cabinet door. I must be missing something.
  8. GD/DG/Gavin mi amigo, select cabinet, open dbx FRONT<SHELVES SPECIFY<DEPTH SPECIFY change depth by about a 1/2" and all will be well.
  9. Yeah Lew, where is he? That old war bird should be back on line in the next day or two Giving us some good advice like, "contact Tech, they are open from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm pst" Come on Lew, where are you?
  10. I bet that if you had known what you were doing in the first place it would of been easy peasy...... relatively speaking....... Here is a vid if interested
  11. For the fun of it, I tried to lay it out. I agree, something is amiss. P. probably nailed the problem, the surveyor made a mistake.
  12. Here is a good shower vid http://youtu.be/I2btcTQOIPM
  13. I am loving the new framing labels for posts and beams. They did not go far enough in regards to auto labels for HEADERS. Anyway, I just noticed that if you put in a new beam drawing left to right, the label will be on top and if you draw new beam from right to left the label will be on bottom.... or vice versa depending on your defaults. Pretty cool option.
  14. As far as the missing drywall at stairs go, select roof plan open DBX<options<uncheck use rooms ceiling finish, that should fix it
  15. Do not use the HOLE IN ROOF option, get rid of the invisible wall at the pop out on left side, add a 3rd floor.... that should fix the gable issues.... I am always baffled when you are missing the drywall at ceiling at the stairs... I wish I could figure that out.
  16. Sorry Moakster, I bet that was painful.... third trying to upload, at 82%.... we will see if it works this time.... for some reason this is long vid.... what a surprise....
  17. This vid ain't happening until I say it is happening or until I do it again or until the computer gods shine their light on me.... sorry guys.... something is amiss..... I will let you know when it is up.
  18. You must have CEILING PLANES and CEILING SURFACES turned off in your camera mode.
  19. I retract that statement. I do not know what you are doing wrong, must be the wrong camera..... I took your plan, did nothing but change that particular ceiling DBX info and it worked for me.
  20. You are using the wrong camera.... you are using a floor camera, I do not believe the floor camera shows ceilings. Learn the difference between the different cameras.
  21. Now wasn't that simple, post the plan and you will have an answer in about 45 seconds. Select ceiling plane open DBX, uncheck USE ROOM CEILING FINISH, go to MATERIALS TAB, select material and all is well.
  22. Thanks Richard, but if I am not mistaken, that is static and it is not changing...... as you add and delete pages in layout, that number does not change. You simply put that info on each page of layout. If you have 100 pages to layout, you would need to do that 100 times. I was thinking that you were explaining something that was "live" "smart" and "every changing".
  23. Sorry guys, you are correct, it is still cooking, I will try again.
