Hey guys, I think I need some help here. I have a dxf file that supposedly has a z value associated with the contour lines and spot elevations. However, when I import, they do not have a z value. would one of you guys.... JK or Mark mind doing a GOTOMEETING with me when you have a chance to go through this with me? I have everything, should take less than ten minutes and would be greatly appreciated. Maybe after the GTM I will do a vid to share what I learned. Thanks guys. Just email me with a good time for you and I will try to make it work on my end.

BTW, I have always drawn them in section..... your method sounds much more efficient.

Stem wall height changes when building a parallel wall next to it.
dshall replied to HaywardVT's topic in General Q & A
Try making the wall a non definition wall, that way it will not have a bearing on the foundation. -
Line showing through exterior in elevation view.

I zoomed in and out, then a back clipped cross section, kicked the cat and spit on the dog, and it was fixed. -
OMG, a video by the Alaskan Son! Awesome.

Anybody who is using their 99th language to teach CA, must be applauded. Yusuf, you are an asset to this forum...you come up with some neat stuff thinking outside of the box. Please keep up the good work. Thank You.

I assume you can see the subscripts on the dimension string to identify to which part of the string you want to add text. But to answer your question, segments 1&2 will be the first segment you create, go left to right, it is the first on left, go right to left, it is first on right. Thanks for the question, it made me test this out... not sure if it can be any easier.

BTW, you must be wearing the correct shoes when you click your heals twice. IOW, no guarantees. -

I can't explain why, but it looks good to me now. I selected the foundation wall between the house and the garage and by clicking my heals twice, it is fixed. -

I think if you go to the rooms at the second floor and DEFAULT THE CEILING HEIGHTS, this should fix all. I rarely rarely rarely change the ceiling heights from the default heights. Maybe you do this to do the auto rebuild roofs, I do not auto build roofs. Point is, I rarely see this problem, maybe because I leave the default ceiling heights in place. -
Your stairs would not meet code in our area. You must be aware of codes. Where I live, triangle stairs do not meet code, minimum 6" at an edge and a minimum of 10" at walk line which is 12" away.

I have not seen this either. Another way to fix it is to open the open to below area and DELETE THE PLY AND THE FLOOR JOISTS, it is now fixed. Now reopen the OPEN TO ROOM BELOW AREA , and default the floor structure, (plywood and floor joists come back but since it is open to below, there is still no floor), and it is still fixed. I can't explain it either.

Have you tried it? If you have tried it, did it work? If it did work, would you mind posting an example? Thanks.

I have a feeling this will be the best ever.

This is so funny. I was thinking of posting this question myself. My question, which I think is similar to yours, How do we control the absolute top of the wall above floor level and how do we provide a footing under the wall with a defined elevation ...... all on a sloped lot.
