  1. I don't think anything has changed since I posted this quite a while back.
  2. If there is a roof covering that slab it may be cutting into the wall layers but hard to know from a floor overview.

    L Block

Thanks Joey, I did not realize there was such a thing.
  4. Are the walls sloping or just the timber frame ? Very nice design but challenging build.

    L Block

I thought that was why 8" block walls were so popular because they don't require an L block at the corner ?
  6. The copied layout file will maintain the link to the original plan file so you will need to change it to the copied plan file. Good Luck.
  7. It will have something to do with how the room is defined but you may need to post the plan file as it is a bit unusual for that to happen that way.
  8. I am not sure that the Iris meets Chief's requirements. Be sure that you are using the MX330 as it should be able to do the job for basic rendering. What does it say in Preferences > Video Card Status ?
  9. Most likely your graphics card but you forgot to tell us those specifications.
  10. Quite possibly a video card driver issue. Check to see if it needs updating.
  11. There are some new settings in X13 but I am not quite sure how it would handle that exact scenario and those that know can not say. I am pretty sure that situation was requested but you may still need to frame it manually. Check out the video starting at 4:40 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/10231/wall-framing-what-s-coming-next.html?playlist=171
  12. Yup that is a deal breaker right there unless it is something that could be done at the end of the build just before printing ?
  13. Do you recall any one of the particular instances it will regenerate ? It may have been fixed when thy did the last update revision ? I completely deleted the rooms and then rebuilt in a new location and the label was retained.
  14. Plan Defaults> 3D View Defaults> Sunlight> Custom Lux> ~0.0
  15. You will also need to kill the sunlight in plan defaults. Not sure if a current camera will pick up default changes or if you need a new camera. It is definitely not easy and messes up every other camera in your plan file but it can be done. Are you doing a night lighting study ?
  16. I am hoping for a change in this with X13 but currently you need to change the defaults for the entire plan file for this too do anything for your walkthrough. To turn the sunlight off you will need to zero out your "Daytime Ambient" setting for the Standard camera views.
  17. Thanks Steve. The plan view representation is glitchy in X9 and works great in X10 with line weights turned on. In x11 and x12 it was broken or turned off but is still selectable using the technique I described above. X7 may have actually been the last time it worked correctly if it would make sense to have the marker in the center of the molding where it says it is in elevation view rather than over in one corner.
  18. Assuming you are talking about the moldings in this situation. First of all they may or may not be the right item to use in this situation as others have stated. However I think I understand your dilemma. I think in some previous version they were actually visible but very difficult to see and possibly only one pixel on the computer screen. I just checked in X12 for now and they no longer seem to be visible but they can be selected and moved if you can find them. You can open the DBX in elevation view and check the X and Y Location and then go to that location in plan view but if you have a general idea of where it is you can likely marque select it by locking all the other items the show up in ALDO when you do the marque selection and then try again. Most likely things to lock in your situation would be walls and windows. The only thing you are really missing is that it would be great if the profile showed up and was editable in plan view but I think that was a dream I had.
  19. Yes I told tech support that but they still insisted I put it in the Library first. The other issue is that cad blocking can occasionally cause corruption of the cad detail so I really hope they fix the copy issue.
  20. Yes I get it. I just recently reported a Cad Detail Copy bug the exists in X12 so maybe if you post a suggestion for export they can include that while overhauling the other. They suggested that I could block my cad details and put them into the library and then when I took them back out again I would have a copy rather than using the dedicated copy tool that is broken.
  21. Rene, Can you block and copy and paste or send to the library to accomplish what you need ?
  22. Change or edit your "Text Style" for the "Roofs, Labels" layer. This is all easy to access through ALDO (Active Layer Display Options). Welcome to ChiefTalk.
  23. That is quite helpful since an empty template file is almost 3MB ??
  24. Quite possibly a wireless issue... Check the batteries and the location of the USB receiver. If you want to know for sure plug in a wired keyboard for a few days. Let us know how it goes.
