  1. You can group select in the Adjust lights DBX and turn on or off the group while holding down the CTRL key. But if you had a bunch of them the same you would have to name them all to keep track. Might be easier to group select in plan view.
  2. Not really sure why it works for me and not for you but one thing you might try is to download you own from the first post and see if just that step makes any difference and if it does not then it must just be an issue with your Chief setup and the others that seem to have had a similar problem. It would be good to at least let tech know as there may be something you could fill them in on. Unless you want to check your raytrace settings one more time.
  3. Looks like it can be done but no time today for video. Here is a test plan. Let us know if you have questions. Portuguese Roof tiles.plan
  4. Can you post the plan or show us the roof style. Is this a unique project or will you use this all the time?
  5. Insert window into regular wall and then convert to Room Divider.
  6. Michael, Just in case my machine has just one magic trick as it did for Mark, give these a try and call tech support even if they do work. Backdrop 1.calibz Backdrop 2.calibz
  7. There may be more to this mystery as it seems to work on my system for some reason ???? Sorry about the test subject matter.
  8. Pink seems to be the substitute color for a missing texture or corrupt material file. Try recreating the backdrop and making a new version in your library.
  9. Do you mean sub layers ? If so no but you can copy the Footings layers and edit it the way you like and name it with the sub layer you like and it will be indexed alphabetically. If I am understanding what you need.
  10. One thing that may be helpful would be to move your original drawing closer to the 0, 0 origin point in Chief as the Chief importer will do that automatically but other programs may handle it differently. Sorry I don't have auto CAD to test with.
  11. Strange it was empty for you Ben. I reimported back into Chief an everything looked fine but not sure what software the laser company is using or how Ben tested.
  12. Start with the manufacturer and ask them if they have anything available. If not someone with the same problem may have taken the time to build a model in Sketchup and post it in the 3D Wharehouse. https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/index.html
  13. I don't use hot keys much but on a job like this they sure come in handy and 3 is the hotkey for Break Line (Material Region Polyline ) in this case. Looks like you have made some good progress. Did you actually make the individual tiles from material regions or use a tiled material ?
  14. Scott, Since that is put out by a roofing company I think they are assuming that intake vents ( soffit ) are not a roofers responsibility. And for example 1 you would need 144 in and 144 out for a total of 288 but again that is just an opinion as venting in Canada is different.
  15. Scott, Just looking at the math aspect I think you missed the "divided 50 / 50 between the inlets and outlets" part. I should be clearer but these things always seem to be based on assumptions.
  16. I think that it was a matter of price and availability as well as not being able to find many bad reports on EVGA. Also Got the Founders Edition with the nearly silent fan which I really like. I ended getting mine from Amazon.
  17. Everything looks good or as expected on my system with Chrome but maybe someone with a MacPro can check for you.
  18. They just brought out a new 1070 Ti if you want to check it out or there are still faster models if they are within your budget. https://www.evga.com/articles/01161/evga-geforce-gtx-1070-ti/
  19. Very good thinking Mick. Is that an experiment or a proven theory. It makes sense and seems logical to keep that stuff separate from everything else. May have to give that a try.
  20. Your situation sounds very familiar to problems I have had in the past but have not experienced for a while now. My computer was also randomly freezing up and after many hours on the phone with Dell and Microsoft I found a technician that recognized the problem and it seems to have also reduced my frequency of glitches in Chief. I had no idea that temp files need to be deleted regularly but it seems to help a lot with overall system performance. If you are also not familiar with that I can post my instruction sheet that I got from Microsoft. If you have a long string of undo's they are stored in your temp files and seem to cause issues with chief in my experience.
  21. X6 -X9 has the option to "Scale Toolbar Icons for High DPI" and X9 also has an manual size adjustment for Button Size. Not sure for anything before that.
  22. If you can afford a new laptop I would strongly suggest upgrading Chief as well even it you only make the jump to X7 that had a lot of new features.
  23. I just finished a big job with soffit and gable mounted lights and had that same issues which did not go as smooth as I thought it should but was not to bad in comparison with hand building the soffits.
  24. Have you tried a stock plan template or a metric one for that matter ?
