I believe the Walkthrough Path Recorder uses the Default Camera View Set. The basic Walkthrough Recorder should use the layerset of the active camera.

That is my problem as well Lew. You can CTRL Z and start the entry all over again or edit manually and then replace your marker and start again. I just never saw the advantage of using it as it is just an extra tool and not a complete solution.

I remember seeing a CA training video that the plot line closed but did not display the same angle as the survey and we have to represent what is on the official survey because we are not surveyors. Surveyors I have talked to seem to record the actual field data as long as it is within acceptable margins and do not massage the data as some software programs are capable of doing. They also have to make a special note if they do not agree with the data on the previous survey so they use the original data if it is with acceptable standards. We just don't seem to go South or record it that way and I was talking to Glenn in Australia and I understand they use Azimuth Bearings but have the same problem because they do not use the reverse angles for clarity.

Yes, go to Preferences> Appearance> Colors> Selection Fill Color: and Editing Transparency:

What do they do with surveys that do not close as I have never had one that does. The one posted here is likely the closest I have ever seen to closing and it is within 1/16" but is not technically closed. Also with a closed polygon I am unable to use the automatic line labels because we do not use South bearing on surveys. I did give the tool another try after Chris posted and it does work but I still don't like it.

Yes there was some discussion on this at the time and I think what you are looking for is under 3D > Camera View Options > Perspective Crop Mode. OR hot key (P) as once you have used the new method for a while you might get used to it for most situations.

You can use the cad details to model an area of shingles with solids or polyline solids and then apply the colors you need from the website and do a screen capture to create the material unless you can find just the right photo buried somewhere in their monster website or go and take your own photo of an existing project but that is difficult with a roof to get a straight on photo without a bucket truck.

What exactly did you import and what are you trying to achieve. Pictures are great but in this case I am not sure they tell the story. You may need to post the plan file if someone is going to try to help.

Thanks Richard, it looks like I put in the wrong chord angle for the short 126.16' line. Are you all good now Roz ?

Take a look and see what you think. I have found several problems with surveys in my area using Chief so it is possible that the surveyor has made and error but I can't really say without the survey. Sometimes an error will become very evident when the survey is scaled and usually it is just the result of a recording error of something being written down incorrectly or plotted out wrong. Sorry to laugh a bit but I gave up on that method as soon as I did my first complicated survey. I plot my surveys out with individual cad lines now and don't even use the input method for easy stuff that it likely would work for. Ahhh... Richard agrees but I have only reduced the gap to 60 13/16" with the new data. There may in fact be an issue with the survey but I usually plot out some of the surrounding lines first to see if I have made any errors before contacting the surveyor. Would you be able to share the whole survey.
-
You may have some difficulty with the input method on this survey. Just sorting out the table measurements at the moment.
-
Roz, I get a gap of 74 5/16". it looks like you have some complicated curves. Are those the chord measurements you posted ?

You might be able to get away with setting the interior wall that adjoins the exterior as "Furred Wall" in the Structure Tab > Double Wall.

Generic Bushes, Plants and Trees--low res? How to? See attached

If it is specifically pattern lines you are working with it would be best to go back to the plan file and adjust the Material Definition. Or if it is a simple cad line in layout you can create another cad layer in layout and if there are a lot of them assign that as the current cad layer but always best to work in the plan file when you can.

File> Export> Export Picture seems to work fine for general screen resolution shots you want to save or share. Might not hurt to also post your new computer specs in your signature so others with the same can help.
-
Yes that is a problem and could use a good plug in suggestions but also some good way of locating one that is drawn vertically in elevation view and appears as less than one pixel in floorplan. Try using one for a custom window grill. Good way to loose hair.
-
Do you mean one that is drawn vertically in elevation view ?

You may have to reveal what font you are using or even post it for others to test with if it is rare. Also a screen shot of X7 and X9. "it just doesn't look right." and "get this font back in line. " does leave me a little "Puzzled." also.

Yes you should be able to import a sketchup model into Chief Architect and create a 360 panorama without difficulty. If you would like to post something simple maybe I could test it for you.
-
Yes you can do that with Chief Architect. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/360-panorama-viewer/

Yes open your layout box DBX and set the Camera View Options to Plot Lines until you are finished working with the layout file with the plan file also open. This should drastically improve your speed and performance until you are ready to present or print. Hoping Chief will either fix this issue or give us a quick way to switch between working mode and print/presentation/final mode with X10. There is also the option in the DBX to Update on Demand but still slows the whole file.

You may want to contact Microsoft and or CA tech support or just roll back to your restore point. 1703 took out 2 of my 3 monitors and it took me a while to straighten it all out. I just got KB4041676 last week and things seem ok.
