  1. Sometimes I import the PDF and place it under my work in situations like this but it is hard to tell with the distortion of the picture what the issue may be but from my experience surveyors do make mistakes sometimes. I would suggest politely contacting them and ask for help. Maybe iron the blueprint and take another shot as square as you possibly can but it looks to me like this will not be easy to resolve with the numbers provided.
  2. Ok I downloaded and enlarged while I was waiting... Still figuring.
  3. Looks like there may be an issue as I have found on several of other surveys I have plotted. Could you post all the bearings so I can be sure I have them correctly as they appear on the blueprint.
  4. So you are unable to reproduce in X9 with the settings provided David ? That is another problem all together.
  5. I would say that is a bug. And it might be a good idea to send it in but if you need to get the drawings done you can place a physical object above and below and off to each side that will be cropped in layout. Or top left and bottom right may work just as well.
  6. So then open a new plan and insert your chosen door into a short wall and then change the wall to a room divider and remove all the stuff on the door that you don't want. Then create a symbol and use that in your bathroom. I have a tutorial with a few more details that might help as some of the procedure will be the same.
  7. A door slab is just a polyline solid so it would be easier to just use a polyline solid for your partition or possibly a thin railing wall would also work.
  8. Good to know about the template plan, so it is worth while giving it a unique wall type and name. Good work. I resorted to cad for the wall legend and unfortunately that was before I realize it could be done with cad detail from view. Oh well learning pains but at least they don't all show up in camera view over in the yard any more.
  9. Yes but does that not screw up your material list just like my Wall Legend that had real walls in it.
  10. Yes I see that now Mick, thanks for the tip, it seems that my test plan was not completely polished as it was a brand new Idea from Glenn that I had never tested before. ND is my framing only railing ( No Drywall ). So it is a good Idea to make a custom named wall type for each library railing or is it simpler to just edit the Library name as I think the wall types could get excessive for me.
  11. I was actually trying to add the corbels to the top of the newel post but not sure that I can make that work. Any Ideas ?
  12. Glenn, Symbol was for two reasons, multiple materials as we don't very often put timber below grade here in Canada and also the symbol allows it to be below grade without messing around after it is placed. I should have showed you a better view. It could even have a post saddle to meet code that way.
  13. Very Well Done Mick, I was just thinking that now that I am learning how to manipulate railings a little better that there are likely many more variations for railings than interior and exterior walls for a house and wouldn't it be great if we could edit and save them like regular walls. But it looks like I will have to set up a Library file until that time comes.
  14. Nice trick Glenn, Here is a quickie test plan so that Glenn can enjoy his vacation. Thanks for sharing the idea. Too bad that railing walls can't be saved...... Might make a good suggestion. Auto Railing Stump.plan Auto Railing Stump.calibz
  15. Shane may have just done it in 3D and used the tab feature to get an accurate height but I am not quite sure. You would have to send him a PM as he is quite busy but would likely respond as soon as he could.
  16. Try drawing polyline solids in elevation view for your beams. You can make a copy of the material and adjust the angle. Unless you mean the gable fascia ?
  17. If you want it straight and true like a runway use a polyline solid and work the terrain to it. You can accurately tilt it in degrees and join sections together as the slope changes. Just remember to draw it in elevation view and don't forget the expansion joints. Or use the terrain tools and a Polyline Road/Driveway as Johnny just suggested.
  18. No you won't find that as the program is not for designing public roadways. Is it a short concrete entrance drive or long winding drive with switchbacks up the side of a mountain ?
  19. If you are in a pinch waiting there are a few things that that can be done in X9 such a filleting the corners of the layout box to varying degrees including the creation of a circle and various masking techniques.
  20. You will very soon have your wish.
  21. Did you see my post in the other thread that I gave you the link for when Mick and I tried to help you with the same question ? Here is a direct link : If your design has a bottom rail this technique may work perfectly for you but without the details I asked for I am unable to test it for you as railings are very finicky. You can draw whatever you like manually but if one of the existing tool can be used it will save you a lot of time.
  22. Yes likely you are asking a bit too much however there is almost always a way to accomplish what you need. Can you provide a little more information about the project ? Maybe what you have done so far and what your goals are and the shape of the road or driveway.
  23. Yes make them floor mounted and then adjust the offset.
