  1. Post a screen shot when you finish so we can see how much better it looks.
  2. No I don't believe so. Did you follow through the link I posted above and the links within the link ? I believe Joe and I both posted examples.
  3. I think I would agree for one job. Possibly not even take it that far though. Take a copy of your window schedule and convert it to text then edit to your liking if you are going to go through the trouble of entering the data any way. Low Tech.
  4. It is not a feature in Chief Architect. However if you are able to write your own code in Ruby language it can run within Chief. These are rather complicated and not really something that can be explained in a paragraph or two. Here is a discussion I was involved in on the topic if you want to do some reading. You can have someone write custom macros for you or learn to write them yourself.
  5. Could likely make you a custom schedule if you are not in a big hurry.
  6. It would be even better to add it to your roof schedule, but that is broken as well.
  7. I believe the pencils come with the purchase of a Mac. You could ask @SNestor about his line types.
  8. If you get those Millwork symbols just right, and since you built them you should have all the correct data, they can be use in auto chief railings. The cables are a little tricky in chief but it can be done. You actually have one of the best right next door if you want to get things just right and post them here on the forum to help with sales. Talk to @Alaskan_Son if you need help. Also if you are asking questions here on the forum it would be great if you could add your version of Chief to your signature so we can give version specific help.
  9. Not a problem. Make them all into Millwork symbols and add them into a library folder. ie. Railing Parts.
  10. Without looking at your plan file I am pretty sure you can just CTRL + X on the wrong floor and change to the correct floor then CTRL + ALT + V. Give it a quick try.
  11. Sorry I did not look at your screen shots as carefully as I should have. The toolbars are built in sections that can be rearranged. You can select a section where the four little dots are and move it to dock below the other tools or even on the side bars of your screen. Possibly that happened by accident or corruption, but can be corrected.
  12. Sounds like you my have been using the Extended Tool Configuration. Right Click on empty section of tool bar and > Toolbar Configurations > Extended Tool Configuration.
  13. Not sure there is a faster way other than maybe setting your first two studs and group selecting them and multi copy @ 24" O.C.
  14. I had not considered renting one but that sure would be handy in some situations. Let me see if I can figure something out for you that will work.
  15. I have successfully used bearing lines and distances with a traditional transit and measuring tape from an established benchmark plotted on my site plan but do not have access to a total station as I suspect most people do not. It is definitely not an auto function in chief but with a little study and perseverance it could likely be done. Not familiar with ASCII formatting but you can get X and Y as well as Elevation values from Terrain Elevation Points. It may just require a little work with macro's.
  16. Look for the "Add Additional Text" tool on you active toolbar when the dimension line is selected and click that and then the dimension line again to suppress dimension value and add your own text. Select the "Suppress Dimension Value" Check Box. This is also available in the Segments section of the Dimension Line Specification DBX. Leading or trailing text will center up if the dimension value is suppressed.
  17. Something like this can be done with Custom Muntins. Just use the auto feature to do one pane and Custom Muntins for the other.
  18. Notice that if you turn off the default and delete the walls you will get duplicate Living Area totals for each Island Room. Not sure what else it does but you can keep the connections and change the wall to a blank or white line style.
  19. Best bet is to use the "Backup Entire Plan" feature from the layout file and use the "Backup Plan Files and All Referenced Files" option. You can even get chief to zip it if you like.
  20. Sounds like a general wall default to me. "Connect Island Rooms"
  21. Skype has a share screen option that works ok if both parties have a good connection but as Johnny says there are other apps such as Zoom or GTM that work better.
  22. How is yours done Eric ? It looks good.
  23. I would need to try it to confirm but I think you could build the wall and frame it with the window and everything then convert to symbol to tilt it. It of course would need to be built over sized so it would still be tall enough when tipped and maybe a little extra since you will not be able to angle the top and bottom plates properly. Otherwise maybe make a symbol window and surround it with p-solids. Side walls can be stretched over to join the sloped gable wall. If not try a search as I am sure there are other discussions on the subject as Chief really does not do angle walls yet.
