  1. It may be possible that you have found a bug but someone will need to see the file to be sure. What update are you on ?
  2. You also need to check what Text style the Layer is using and set the rotation there if you are letting the layer control the text style. I usually do that using ALDO ( Active Layer Display Options ) for simplicity.
  3. Which Radio button do you have selected at the top ? Layer, Text Style, or Custom ? There are other places to set the rotation if you are using a Text Style.
  4. Try this. If not post the plan and someone will take a look but it seems to still work in X12 for me.
  5. I have not seen your method done before. You may be better off using %layout_label% and not starting your auto numbering until page 1. Just manually number your template page in the Label: field. I may be wrong but it could save you some trouble in the future.
  6. Not a problem posting your operating system and version but I would not recommend posting your serial no.
  7. If you still want the siding to cover the floor beams take a look at the settings for the living room floor. Apartment_Plan_Chopped.plan
  8. Grass does not grow so well under apartments. Maybe a terrain feature with sand or gravel.
  9. You can also use a point to point dimension with leading text and it will snap the the arc center if that works better for what you are doing.
  10. It may just be a general issue with the execution of macro's Joe. Something is up because I had a macro create an entire duplicate line the other day for no reason.
  11. Doug, Did the client draw that or did they buy an "Almost Complete" plan file from someone they fired ? There is some pretty nasty work in there for sure. Good luck. Noticed a bunch of walls on the upper level that were not at Default Bottom Height. Also some broken roof framing. Sometimes when things are that messy or complex it is good to get all of your layout views set up so deficiencies are easier to see as they would show in the final layout. Then you can just deal with the worst first.
  12. Please also add your version number (X12) and some of your critical computer specifications to your signature for future reference.
  13. You will find those options in the Roof tab of the Gable end wall DBX. "Auto Roof Return" They can also be drawn manually.
  14. What version of the software are you using please ?
  15. Try selecting the larger one and then tab once or twice.
  16. Click and hold and drag a "Marquee Selection Box" around the text box and you should see the option to cad bloc in the active tool bar.
  17. Yes open each roof plane and check the "Roof Surface Area" of the polyline or let the Material list tally them all for you.
  18. Start Here: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/5445/creating-3d-cad-objects.html?playlist=98 However you are getting into some of chief's more advanced tools so there will be a learning curve. Michael has a lot of training video's that pick up where chief's video's leave off but be sure you understand the basics first. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfxF7fl4jiGw7I7MRpsQq7w
  19. You may be able to use the railing tool but other than that you are likely just modeling all of that manually. Sections can be drawn and extruded as psolids and then some may need to be converted to solids to use the bolean toolset. Polyline solids can be converted to symbols with stretch planes and saved in the library or just copied and used over. It will take some time but you should be able to do a better job than the original set of drawings by using Chief.
  20. Yes it must be blocked to add to the library and Marquee Selection allows you to block it by itself.
  21. Marquee Selection will save you both a lot of time. Just click and drag a box around the text. Something else you may find handy is the Edit Rich Text In Place tool.
  22. So far X12 has been pretty stable for me so maybe talk to tech support in the morning and try to keep track of when it happens. Next update should be next week some time I think.
  23. Yes, but the custom macro I put in doesn't show up. It is possible that you did a really good job of placing your manual text and the wall labels are directly underneath.
  24. Yes that is also a possibility. There is also an arrow style without a tip.
