  1. The 3D Warehouse has a few. Maybe something you could use. https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/search/?q=bamboo
  2. It can also be edited in Chief with the use of the Delete Surfaces tool and the creation of a new symbol. Here is a video that Michael did a while back that should help.
  3. In X11 and X12 it resides in "Customize Toolbars...."
  4. Rob I think it is automatic and dependent on the room definition on one side of the door(s). This is a little murky in my opinion as chief just assumes we know which room types are interior and which are exterior. Of course some are obvious but others not so.
  5. Thanks Dermot. I did not see that there.
  6. Hummm...... I am not sure that feature exists any more. It seems we now have full control of the be Start and End posts. However if you need to eliminate intermediate newel posts I think the only option is to increase the spacing until they disappear. Which may or may not work depending on your design.
  7. Here is a quick example of a 12' post. If that does not make sense I will take a look at your specific example in your plan.
  8. Yes Please. That would be great. @BenMerritt
  9. Thanks for clarifying Michael. I was sidetracked with schedule callouts for some reason which do not seem to respond to the Rotate With Plan settings in v.20.1.1.1 I originally tested with the previous version and thought that they did. Can you recall if was always this way? There could potentially be a situation where you would not want them to rotate.
  10. If you are able to export and use .DAE it has a much higher limit.
  11. Therein lies the problem and the less than friendly responses. The trial version does not allow you to save or upload a plan file. Although you did post some nice screen shots it is not clear exactly what the problem is at least to me and likely others who could possibly just give you an off the cuff pointer in the right direction. I would suggest that you work with someone like Renerabbitt who can guide you by screen sharing. My apologies as I did not realize a first that your elevations were not done in Chief and do not match the 3D screen shots. For Gable roofs select the gable end wall and make it a "Full Gable Wall" in the Roof tab of the Wall Specification DBX. You can actually organize the screen shots so they are side by side and mark them up with notes and arrows if necessary. Best of luck as there is a lot to learn yet, but you have definitely made a good start.
  12. Wow. That would have been a wild guess. Might be a good idea to leave this post up, just in case it happens to someone else. Also maybe a bit about how you fixed it.
  13. Did anything else change on March 6th ?
  14. Does it show on your desktop or with any other apps ? Never seen that in chief before. Could be a hardware issue unless it is only in chief.
  15. Let us know how that goes. I can't seem to reproduce the issue although there was a major problem with this a few years back but I believe it was all resolved.
  16. Select the Ceiling Plane and then on the Active Tool Bar use the "Build Framing For Selected Object(s)" Tool. Check your framing presets for the ceiling planes as well. If that does not work you may need to post the plan and have one of the experts take a look or you may have some sort of interaction going on that chief would need to fix.
  17. What have you tried so far ? I just use this little tool.
  18. Not sure how or why Ca X11 v22.1.1.1 could possibly be open before or during the installation. If you can close Chief the installation may finish or you may need to start over after you close Chief but the strange thing is it seems you have already done the install. It seems you are doing a reinstall ? It could just be a toolbar migration issue.
  19. No that should not be necessary. Tools > Layout > Referenced Plan Files... And relink to Plan B and that should be it.
  20. Something like this maybe ? Not sure it is the same as last time I did it, possibly easier with some of the new tools.
  21. If you noticed that option has been removed from the DBX with no explanation from Chief. However it is possible to build a piggy back truss system with the existing tools but it sure is tricky. I have not done it for a while so would have to review the procedure myself. If you could post a plan file with the required specifications, I will see if I remember how and possibly make you a video or do a 1 on 1 screen share.
  22. That was a recent tip from Michael. But you are welcome all the same.
  23. Yes, Take a stock Schedule and convert it to Text and then it can be edited with your own data and look like a chief schedule. If all of your items are cabinet attributes you may be able to actually use a cabinet schedule with a few macros.
  24. Just as you describe. Save-As Plan B and Save-As Layout B but then Layout B needs to be relinked to Plan B. Tools > Layout > Referenced Plan Files...
  25. Doug it seems that the original PDF is good for the purpose it serves but is only 100 dpi. and likely optimized. Not something that Chief can currently handle as far a I can tell.
