  1. Have not looked at the plan file yet but are you aware of the "Retain Wall Framing" setting in the Structure tab ? Or even turning off "Auto Rebuild Attic Walls" may help.
  2. It seems to me that by my amateur diagnosis that a column failure may be due to the structure and execution of the macro where a row failure has more to do with an incomplete update issue on chief's behalf.
  3. Interesting. My current issue is with some Schedule Rows ( Horizontal Data ) My macro's will actually update with a little zoom most of the time but your idea of moving the schedule does not seem to work for me. I seems to help to have the object displayed on screen but have not tested that theory extensively.
  4. Yes unfortunately but you are the macro guru. Some do not update on every refresh while others do. Sometimes F12 works. Any ideas as to why and is it a new X12 problem ?
  5. There may be something just a little off with your build or possibly it is just one of those things chief does not quite know how to handle yet, but as Larry just noted there is a 4 3/16 : 12 roof label visible so it may be as simple as that.
  6. Your blue line will be your "Roofs, Overhang Area" layer being on and displayed. Not quite sure about the auto framing. Maybe check to see if the connections are identical or maybe chief figures there is sufficient framing there already.
  7. Make sure this is turned on first. Also you most likely have BEDROOM in your Room Label Default.

  9. Talock, I can't quite find the culprit but something is causing your camera to set up at quite a distance from the model. This is usually associated with a lost object way outside of the building zone yet I can't find it for you right now. May have worked a bit too hard today. You can maybe get by with moving the camera into a more reasonable proximity with the camera DBX settings and plan view adjustments. It has been a long time since I have used X6 so I may have missed something but newer versions definitely have better camera controls making this sort of thing less likely. There is also a driveway outside of your terrain perimeter that seems to be causing issues.
  10. talock, This is a problem know as z-fighting and is associated with thin material settings as well as the model not being placed within a reasonable distance of the plan origin. I would not mind taking a look at your X6 plan file if you could post it.

  12. Adjust your " Subfloor Height Above Terrain" value in Terrain Specifications > General
  13. Sorry not that I am aware of. It would be nice to just be able to copy and edit a Core Catalog item and have it stay in it's original folder with some sort of an indicator that it has been modified. I would just start with the main structure of folders and add sub folders as required as there will likely be lot you will never need. Go with a naming scheme that is consistent and you will remember.
  14. Unfortunately I think you need to reframe the wall for the fill style to update.
  15. Yes I sort of assumed that. So you are all ok now ?
  16. Plan Defaults > Framing > Wall > Default Fill Style.
  17. Try to keep a similar format as the Core Catalogs so that as things are customized and accumulated you will know where to find them since we can't change the core catalog.
  18. Be sure your Intersection snaps are turned on as well.
  19. Do you mean for your 45° example ? Chief is just deciding not to show the trailing zero's which should also be a formatting option to avoid this type of confusion particularly for site plans.
  20. Yes mine is defaulting to the same degree/minutes/seconds.... which ironically appears to not even be an option that chief offers. Not sure they realize how confusing this can be for someone who is new to this sort of thing or even someone who does not use English as their first language. Chief is not even using the same terminology they use in other parts of the program. I noticed that you are having to use terms that are not show in the DBX to describe what is going on. This should be a clue for Chief that something needs to be updated and fixed. I would love to be able to set a default for Decimal Degrees as well as being able to specify rounding for it. Maybe some year !
  21. Rich that is exactly what happened to me and I was about to give up and an new meeting number came through by email from Scott which seemed to have some issues but eventually worked.
  22. To create corners you can convert your walkthrough path to an advanced polyline so you can lay out the path and drag the lead camera where you want to advance it to then add breaks and cameras as necessary along the way. Personally I like to be able to use normal spline or at least be able to convert between normal and advanced. To do that you would need to draw a standard polyline and convert it to a spline which can then be converted to and advanced spline and then back again. I think maybe it was that way in some previous version. Your camera settings need to be done in defaults for the Full Camera. Sunlight can be set in 3D View Defaults > Sunlight. You can also make some adjustment to your ambient light levels etc in your rendering technique defaults but these are often quite different than you would normally use for still renderings and it would be really handy to have these as separate defaults for walkthroughs as I often need to use a separate file to do walkthroughs which is not fun at all. Unfortunately there are still some other useful settings that are out of reach for walkthrough path recordings that we should have access to.
  23. Yea you can set the text size but that is about it as far as I know. Much more has been requested but it seems to be the last thing on the priority list.
  24. How to get to the DBX you mean ? Just draw an angular dimension and open it. If you are looking for default settings I would love to know as well.
