  1. Joe with the correct macro's I would be interested in purchasing once I see if they would work for me and there is a time savings which I have seen with your macro's, very interested
  2. Joe I have to complement you I envy your ability doing macro's I really think it is great, just the little I learned from you and some of the others has helped me a real lot and I am no where's near to where you are or I would like to be

    X6 To X7

Don't uninstall x6 unless you don't want it on your computer, I have both and 4/5 on another one it will bring your user lib with it, you might have to update your library's that should be it
  4. Scott that is because you are such a likeable guy, only reason they put that there
  5. The only time I use sent to layout with no scale and to 11 x 17 is for preliminary plans so the client can see what the room sizes are and the layout sheet is where I change the size of the dimensions just for prelims, when doing final plans it is always to 1/4" scale or larger depends what size paper I am printing to and the room on the paper but 1/4" is min. for final plans
  6. A lot of the mason's and carpenters want me to print 11x17 that they can read for doing there work, for permitting they want us to print 1/4" scale which most will fit on 24x36 then there are the townhouses that I have to provide larger paper for
  7. Alex when you send you plan to a layout at no scale you can select that plan on the layout page and open the dbx box, under the general tab around 6 items down you can increase the sizeof your dimension txt
  8. I agree with Perry catchup is sometimes not good for this reason I stay upto date with the program and the new versions, since this is a business for me the upgrades pay for themselves a lot of times with the speed I gain and for me time is money
  9. Perry if you still wanted the beam with post and did the invisible wall where you wanted the post you can control where you wanted the post, and if railings were on there ok if you wanted no railings but still wanted post with beam I can see where Bills method would work well
  10. Justin just getting into the macro things and like you I come from a building background, I like what I see with the rafters guess my ? is where do you put the macro so that it shows those lengths, the guys I draw for like when I show the framing rafters on the plans and they would like that marco also

Mike I have this doa but don't see how this was since I closed the program last night when done and when I opened what I was working on it was poof gone, tech support and they had me go to x7 data files and rename the lib with the extention old after it, then close chief reopen and the lib names came back from there opened the old lib and copied into the new ones and things came back, she knew what she was doing so it must of happened before to people

    Library

Went to start up for the day jand when I opened my plan I was working on yesterday when I opened it today I had lost my core, bonus and manufacture catalogs, does anyone have any ideas why and what I can do to get them back without a full download, I did a shut down and restart but nothing, using X7 with the latest updates and Support is closed
  16. Ditto on the existing and new plans, on existing I will put a hatch in a wall if it need to be removed and then put a cad block for a wall and a note demo wall and existing walls, this way they know what needs to be removed and what stays
  17. Thanks Joe I will try that and as far as hearing will always be listening and learning
  18. Ok I am lost I copied what I believe to be the marco for the room clg or wall plate height, I open up text macro management made a new one named it my room clg height and then pasted the copied macro into the value area when I went to use it the macro was greyed out what did I do wrong
  19. My macro friends is there a macro that can be put in a room to show the ceiling height as lets say 8'-1 1/8" clg or 9'-1 1/8" clg rather then 97 1/8" or 109 1/8" thanks
  20. Fred in the core lib under mechanical, electrical, outlets there is a ceiling recepticle you can use
  21. I agree with Perry on using the latest bells and whistles, I usually copy and paste the file in newer versions this way I can always go back invade things don't workout but chief has been stable and haven't had to go back on anything except small revisions that I didn't want to bring forward
  22. No but it is always nice to keep one or two previous versions just in case, I have X5,6.and 7 for know
  23. Larry great video I don't usually do terrain but with your explanation I just might give it a shot, and of course Glenn and Scott for showing you so you could show us :-)
  24. Ross if you lock the ridge and change the pitch to the 4/12 will that work for you
