  3. Select the roof which is the correct fascia then copy that number, then open the roof that you want to move and paste that number in there and it will move to where you want it to be
  4. You might want to check youtube there is a lot of vids there, also chiefexperts.com and http://www.chieftutor.com/, https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=chief%20architect%20video these are some great resoreses to learn from, others have your tube vids also
  5. Attached is the one I just did only thing it has a roof over it, you can call it a deck or a balcony and it should come out ok, if this is what you are looking to do
  6. If you learn to use your annotation sets all you have to do it setup an annotation set to what you want, select that annotation set and draw your line or box, it is all setup in the annotation set
  7. Dave I have a layer setup called sq. ft. and it is a different line color, I also use annotation sets which is set to house sq. ft. and the cad layer there is active to my sq. ft. layer set so that when I draw a line it is in that color and I and move it to anywhere I want to measure to
  8. I have suggested and would like to see us be able to take a cade block, or lets say if we are making a manufacture's lib for a window company we us all the time once we get it to what we want that window to be and we want to add it to our lib, we can select a lib that we have made and when we save it the object goes into that llb not into the my cad blocks lib and then we have to move it to the lib we want it in, this would save steps. I also would like to be able to have the window manuf. in the windows dbx not in the components or the components lib in the window dbx
  9. Someone a long time posted how to make an invisible electrical symbol not sure who, so I have an invisible light fixture and sw that doesn't show on the plan put when I put them together I put a note on my plan that says run to switch above and then upstairs I do the same thing with the note run to switch below, so far this has worked for me and the extra symbols don't show on the plan

  14. If you mean modernizing the code base and I have to learn computer codes I not for that, I think most of us come from a construction background or drafting background, I know building and I can build it and draw it I don't know computer codes, Scott this might be a studid statement worst then you ?
  15. Mr. Scott I think you are onto somrthing as long as the spline tool made the connection so as you stated if you move a light or switch it goes with it
  16. Kelly I have suggested that also, wish we could have something like the arc tool so we can draw our own arc and a straight like that makes the connection also
  17. I would raise the ceiling in that room and use the soffit tool or a polyline solid and make my adjustments and as Curt said it depends on what you are doing if it is a truss roof or stick built which I always did and I would raise the clg jsts to the height that I wanted and then box down for the stepped clg
