Perry I see what you are talking about on the floor plan if you look at my pictures again they are in an elevation view that is where I want to see the fascia on my framing elevation view which it doesn't show in the first picture and when I did what Scott suggested I got the finished fascia with a white material on it not a framing fascia before the finish is put on, my comments were for elevation views to send to a layout which I give a framing view with all of my plans
-
Joe make that request as part of the stair update they might work on for the future, what if I want to have a stained stringer or white stringer with stained steps, I should have that option
-
Scott, Scott, Scott when I was building I always put my wood fascia on before I put my soffit or fascia color on the house so that is the way I want to show my framing in my FRAMING PLAN with a wood fascia and rafters before I do the finish, I show the studs before I put the sheathing, house wrap and siding on, so why can't I do that with my framing plan, please chief give me the option to show my fascia in my framing plan. Perry in the first pic I have framing rafters turned on but don't have the fascia could you post what you have. and I agree with Joe I want to be able to inter mingle
-
Scott when I turn the roof planes on it does show the fascia but in white not the wood color of the rafters and the rafters are covered with that layer turned on, what am I doing wrong, here are 2 pic's of with and without
-
A question I always wondered about but never asked, when do my framing plan I have a 5 1/2" fascia but when I build framing and do a framing view it does not show the fascia, what am I doing wrong or what am I not selecting in the layer display options

Frieze Issues On Manual Hip Roof With 2 Different Pitches
chief58 replied to bobditch's topic in General Q & A
Scott good ? but chief will let you keep the fascia heights and overhang the same which means one of the base line height has to be higher, might be best to use a poly molding around the house if the fascia will be the same height or the overhang different -
Gerry thanks for the help but when I comes to marcro's I am lost, I downloaded what you sent but that is as far as I got with it don't know where to go from there to put in in my schedules, I will have to read up on marco's when I get a little time

Curt there is an afci recep. in the lib under electricl outlets wall mounted, I make this my default in the default setup, here in Pa I have to provide a basic electrical plan to code for my clients, I just do the basic to get them through permitting then they can do a walk thru with there contractor to what they want and some want me to show everything they want to have which is ok since I use to do my own electrical when I had my construction business, things so fairly quick in Chief doing the electrical plans only thing I wish they would change is how the connection arc works it auto makes to big of an arch

Curt this has happened for me in previous versions also all other rooms will do the auto place outlets with no problem, since our codes require arc fault recep. in all rooms I have that setup for my defaults for auto placement and it will put in gfi for bathrooms

Alan I want to show it in feet inches if I can do that, I know I can do it in the default dimensions but want to show feet and inches in my window and door schedules if that is possible
-
"macro" or "macros" is there a way to show window and door sizes in the schedules as 13'-0 x 8'-0" or 13' x 8' rather than 13080 version x7 or previous
-
Joe I have done to my template plan for X7, it would be nice if they would come forward with any old plans brought forward, just and idea, but steps are more important then exporting and importing annotation and other sets
-
maybe that would be a good suggestion that our annotation, layer and wall sets come forward with each new version
-
Scott I just export and then import my annotation sets to make it easier, also do that with wall layers and layer sets

Tommy here is one that I did that was on level ground and then I added the stepped unit, know I amWESTERIA LANE TOWNHOUSE-Layout.pdf working on stepping the units the opposite way, I also have done ranch townhouses for the same client
-
I have the same client and I do 4 unit townhouses for him which are all the same except for elevations which units have to be higher do to grade, I will draw the overall size of all units or close approx. to that size start with the firs unit and I use a shaft wall detail between units, once I get that setup for the first or first 2 units however it works out then I will get a center line and reflect about that line for a lot of the things that are in each unit that the fixtures or items will be in the same place
-
Perry that would be at Cheers where everybody knows your name

IF you check there is a r.o. # for top and bottom and just one number for sides, make the first one 1/4" it will say both sides, the next 2 will be 0, I use andersen's all the time with no problem. and just as a side note and don't take this personnel because I have been doing this for over 30 years and just realized I was spelling Andersen the wrong way there is no o it is AndersEn, that is what it says on the front of the book

My tv has a hdmi cable from the computer to the tv, and it is connected to my desktop, one thing my son told me to do is make the background color on chief to white and it does show better that way and I set that tv to wide, I used a light grey for chief just for glare when working on the 28" monitor
-
Chad check this out I think Perry is correct is made for an ipad
-
Lew thanks for the information have to run out this morning to meet with client but will checkout later today thanks again hopefully this works better for me
-
Lew know you lost me when it comes to that, can you explain better in dummy terms which I am for that
-
Lew, the tv is at least 10-12' away from my desk and the clg is 9' high and the tv mounts about 3-4" from clg, and the only problem in see floor plans elevations are ok, might be a resolution thing
-
Lew my main monitor is a 28" that I use for everyday drawings, when I have a client I duplicate that monitor up to the 40" vizio tv and that is where I get the floor plans not looking the best on that one, maybe I have to mess with the settings on the 28" monitor so it shows up better on the 40" tv

Ben I haven't seen that when plotting plan or printing 11x17 prints
