This happens if you are doing it in a "live" Plan view window .....zoom in on the Originial to how you want it seen, then goto CAD>CAD from View to create a new CAD Detail that is no longer "live" but still fully editable.

Yes but only in Plan View as Michael explained above , I thought the OP was talking about a 3D view from his previous Thread on Brick layers missing, when I posted.

Yes I assumed 3D after reading his other Thread on "Brick Hatching" but perhaps that was in Plan View too ? could well be I am way off based.... M.

Ray tracing causes the CPU to get very hot , so it could be related to Heat especially on a Laptop as many are not well ventilated , try setting the number of Raytrace Cores in Preferences>Render to 1/2 the number it shows now as test and see if it helps , it will be slower obviously.....

@ACADuser (Alan) I know is fluent in AutoCad so hopefully he will see this Thread and be able to help you out.... M.

This just came up here too but if I have All On Set I see everything...

If I use the All On Set , Walls, Main Layer Only is turned on but so is Walls, Normal..... I do not lose the siding unless I deselect Walls, Normal. So what am I doing different or not doing? did I Check Walls, Normal at some point? is that usually Off ? M.

So you copy and paste anything in your X9 template into a fresh Plan made with the X10 default Template? I assume you mean things like Section cameras, text boxes , CAD Details etc , or does your Template also act as your "warehouse plan" and you have all sorts "ready to go" M.

Thanks Mark , appreciate it , that is good info to help me get started .....I am thinking I should reinstall X10 and not let it migrate X9 this time ..... but am aware of the Time involved to do that and set everything up again how I like it.... X10 is forcing Macro renaming if you edit one, 1st letter cannot be a Capital...... at 1st I thought I had a keyboard issue M.

Apparently the removing of Framing from the Component Dialog was on Purpose , but he didn't say WHY . He would like more information from Users as to what functionality we have lost since X9 ( if any ) so He can determine if it is something they need to look into , so please add your comments and I will update him accordingly.... I have only noticed the Framing missing , have any other categories disappeared? M.

Hi Ed , I have watched Jared's Video Previously and need a new Template for X10 after finding a few issues with old plans brought forward , if you have time would you mind looking at my Post below ( from a few weeks ago ) and share any tips about starting a new Template from scratch Please. I don't want to clutter up Larry's thread here with that, Thanks.

Looks like it must just be you and me Mike who want to do this for X10 ....... I have found a few Issues using older Templates , like the new Header Labels not working without a re-frame , and Component List feilds not populate in the ML if you use a X9 or earlier Template. M.

Jan.18th.....Just a quick update I have been using 390.65 for about a week on my Desktop and had no issues in Chief or other Programs so far, they are also as fast as 382.05.

This style is also called Arabesque , if there is nothing in Chief's library I would try some of the AutoCad Forums / Sites as the Pattern Files also work in Chief. you could start here : Google Images of Arabesque Tile

I have my cameras set just like yours and have the same experience with PBR<>Standard view Defaults --- one turns on the other.... For me with RCSS on my CPU fan boosts up and down with the 3D view movement , so it was immediately noticeable to me early in trying Beta 3 , and since the noise is a pain in the A** , i have them turned off for normal working/drawing .....I can turn them back on if I need a Pic for a Client or something, I really don't need all the "Eye Candy" when I am working on a Drawing. M.

All 3D views ( and possibly DBX's with 3d content like the library) now use "Ray Casted Sun Shadows" (RCSS) and this is causing slowdowns for some as it is using the CPU , (the ray trace engine ) for these new Shadows , you can disable them in the Camera's Settings by unchecking them ,to test . M.

You make it sound so simple Sir ! I'm not sure why the Ridge and Kicker (valley board) can't be done auto to be honest, along with the needed Bracing for the trusses etc sometimes I think CA needs dragging out of the 80's the way they build stuff ......not to mention some of the Library Items

Didn't occur to me at all either, I have 4 Filters setup so I can search each folder separately if I know approx. where to look , looks like it was maybe stuck in Manufacturers but I'm not sure why I could still see my User folder as that is not the way that filter is Set Up ie I should see Manufacturers only, but I guess the USER folder is always view-able and my User Filter only works for Searches. M.
