  1. Find the schedule column that reports the difference or create a custom field set to slide direction and add that info to those two doors. It will number them separately. btw @GeneDavis I will be in Naples next weekend.

  3. I believe the OP has broken the wall and manually adjusted it.
  4. Most common methods would be using: Moldings Wall Caps But you can also use: 3d Solids Roof Planes Ceiling Planes Cabinets hmmm probably forgetting about 20-30 other methods that are more creative..
  5. It's nice that newell thanked you. I will go ahead and mark your answers with an upvote at least for your guys' effort!
  6. Make sure they are turned on in your layers. When you select them (you may need to either turn the fill off of your cad polyline) in the bar at the bottom of your screen it will show what layer and what group they belong to.
  7. My best guess after looking at the photo above is that it was some attic walls of something that was over there. Whether it was from a previous house that you had drawn there and deleted the main walls and then did save as method or something you drew over there and then moved or deleted. Probably your changes forced Chief to redo the attic walls and recognized there was nothing there to build auto attic walls for. But again just a guess based on the picture.
  8. @johnny Is a licensed architect out of Anacortes, WA who uses the software. @jbaehmer and myself are both Architectural designers who are based out of and do lots of work in Western Washington. I cannot speak to the others but I assume they are as busy as I am. I personally couldn't take on the job for probably 3-4 weeks at least.
  9. Don't see the issue... This picture is with all layers on (BTW your All layers on layer set does not have all layers selected to display but this picture does.)... Can you re upload the plan with a saved camera view where you see the issue?
  10. Look a little closer to his description of what to use:
  11. Probably Not without much more information and preferably a plan uploaded to see what you have going on. Everyone appreciates if you include information (like what you put in your description) regarding your software version and some basics in your signature so we can have all the information handy and you don't have to write it out every time. Posts that get more help have concisely written descriptions of the issues and SCREEN CAPTURES of pix of the situation. In some cases that will be enough to get you an answer but in some cases a plan file may be necessary such as with roof issues especially.
  12. No those Round Pads or Square Piers are not independent pier footings, they are for point loads on foundation walls. I will use either the post with pier ftg., or a polyline and convert it to a slab usually. I always change my Pier ftgs. to the Footings layer (personal workflow preference). UPDATE: I am checking it right now since the latest update end of last week and it does appear that the snap point on the center of the pier ftg. that is made with the post and pier tool will recognize the center point but will not snap a dimension to it. This is a lost functionality that should be reported. It will snap to the corresponding outside edge of the pier at center point but will not show the automatic centerline. This is a bug as I have done that hundreds of times and not had this issue. BTW the polyline converted to a slab still works appropriately, and you can still mark that segment as centerline and it still behaves the same but is not snapped to the center of the ftg rather the perpendicular point to it on the outside.
  13. but.. I think this did work, or at least it works today when i tried again Should not be necessary. I keep them off and dimension to centers of pier ftgs in every plan.
  14. Check out this info as from what I understand it is majorly an issue with Mac's definition of what can be used as an icon and sizing that causes it mostly with Chief. What I mention in this thread fixes it 99.5% for me.
  15. Is Deck post footings layer locked by chance?
  16. Answering your OP you set it up in your template plan as oob Chief uses 2x8. Answering your new question you need to change that deck rooms floor structure as @DBCoopershows above. btw simply responding will not let anyone know you had a further question. You need to quote that person or tag them by using @ @GP202256so it will let them know.
  17. Use a template plan that has it set in the deck room default.
  18. Most likely they used the smooth (some may use textured) "soffit" material on the face and then built up from there around it with the trim, added necessary flashings, caulking and paint... Pretty standard stuff really.
  19. I would talk to @Renerabbitt. He sells a very extensive pro version template that will save tens of hours on every job or more with newer users. He is also faster than most at setting up custom templates.
  20. Looks like Painted Trim. Whether it is a primed whitewood, hardi trim or LP Smartside trim would be up to the designer to specify. Flat portion most likely is a hardi or smartside non textured soffit material. All site caulked & painted.
  21. I was going to recommend @Renerabbitt but I see he already responded. He is being modest in his description of skills above and in your backyard. @MKBDesignis another one in your backyard and happens to work with Rene often as well.
  22. I am sorry it is obviously a regional terminology issue as no one seems to know exactly what you are looking for. Can you please provide a picture or a rough sketch so someone can help you figure out how to accomplish what you want.
  23. It appears that what you have drawn using cad tools is just on the plan view and not a section or cad detail. Plan view will only send in plot lines already so that is what you are getting which is without any type of background when you send to layout automatically. What are you trying to export exactly? Is this for a client to see the layout of the panels? To a Cabinet maker? a GC? Answering this may help someone to give you a best practices option. BTW those are super easy to create using a full cabinet and then taking a wall view which will look cleaner in your export. Just a quick random example.
  24. Yup that would work if he just wants a parapet wall that is arched. I believe he was asking for a full arch barreled roof from the little information given.
  25. @cjanderson66 Remember that unless automatic attic walls is turned off Chief will create an attic wall up to the roof from your prescribed room specifics so you just have to create the Barreled or Arched Roof.
