I personally don’t use the no material in the wall definition as I find it is more troublesome but what is the issue you are having with the method making the wall thickness wider and making sure the newell and rail is not set to use wall thickness?

Not sure what is up with downvote. 1. is correct. I didn't need to open your plan to see it in your pix. 2. will work but I agree that Robert's suggestion is better.

Better technique. Make the wall Wider but don't have newell set to be wall thickness. NOTE you will need to make the Wall larger by double what you want the setback. So if its a 4" wall and you want it 4" back from the edge you will make the wall thickness 12" and the newell 4"... Rough numbers for demonstration only. The wall/newells will be centered in the wall thickness but the deck will build to exterior of wall.

Forward compatibility only. Once a plan is opened and SAVED in a newer version it can no longer be opened in a previous version. But if you are farming out your work to someone who does not stay current and have SSA Personally for me that is a red flag regarding their experience level with the software. Not always but it can be someone who doesn't use it every day like the users who stay current.

1.)Didn't open the plan but you can see in your pic the extra material on your balusters as well. My guess is you are using a flooring texture instead of a seamless wood texture. 2.) Use an invisible wall for the deck edge and then place a railing inside that (you may have to place it away from the edge then precision move it close to the edge (also the railing wall may need to be marked as a partition wall depending on what your current railing settings are.

Sounds like an operating system issue.

Probably a difference in your gpu. That being said, PC, Mac, or anything I don't reccommend sending live camera views to layout... Export them as a png and import them into layout. much cleaner and smaller template file size.

Without seeing the plan I couldn’t tell you for sure but what I suspect is the walls you were trying to change which set back slightly from the middle section were not aligned properly with a foundation wall below. So, since there wasn’t a wall above the foundation wall Chief was automatically putting one there. Attic walls will shoot through a regular wall and you will have one material that won’t change because it’s the wall behind it. So in your case when you rebuilt the foundation it aligned those walls and fixed the issue getting rid of the extra attic wall that was “hiding” the actual wall.

Your foundation wall was not aligned properly so you had an attic wall there going up to the roof from the misaligned foundation wall.

Search the help files for layers and layer sets and read up on default settings.

You are not placing your windows exact or you are using Metric instead of imperial dimensions to place it. If you are holding control/Cmd. and moving the window in 3d or in plan placing it by not using dimensions then even thought the dimension may show it at 11'-2 1/4" it is probably actually at 11'-2 9/32" or so but the dimension is set to round.

Have you turned it off and on again? Is it plugged in? Sorry couldn't resist the typical IT questions. But sometimes a restart will do the trick.

There is one issue that is known and that is an issue when using dropbox and some other cloud services and working on the plan without downloading them to your computer. It was an issue that dropbox had at some point but still comes up occasionally.

Make it with a 3d solid make it a symbol and designate it correctly in the components section of the symbol dbx as a shelf. Just like in the field we have to make custom items.

Try a distribution path as well.

Look at the different material options for brick and read up on lintels.

Did you check for Rocks in the Core Library?

This photo shows exactly what I was saying above: You are using a filter with nothing selected to show so you are getting the filtered results of nothing. You need it to say Not Filtered where it currently says Active Filter. Change that and get your library back.

1.) Turn off the filter. 2.) Make sure your bottom window is not minimized at the bottom. Key is that you have a filter setup in that profile.
