Lew with all due respect. I am not the one who is transferring or trying to acquire a license. I was just getting tired of seeing you rant about it when some experienced users made a recommendation of how to confirm with the proper terminology to see if you still may be able to. Right here in the response from chief they mention that it is possible in certain instances. Why not try to call in and "transfer" your license to another user instead of selling your license?

This has been stated in about four threads now Lew. You have been asked by several if you had reconfirmed it other than the original sales person as others had received other information.... We haven't heard back from you so I am assuming No you didn't call in and ask regarding transferring your license and not selling your license. I had a client transfer their license to one of Mick's clients not too long ago so it has been possible as you state. But possibly due to emotions it wasn't expressed properly or the agent who told you differently was confused of your intentions. Maybe we can ask @ChiefArchitector @Dermotor anyone else at Chief to comment regarding this? Are transfers still allowed until Jan 10th? After? If transferred before or after does the new license holder have the opportunity to purchase SSA at that time and continue with a Legacy license? Please clarify for us all.

Do you have the wall framed?

It has to do with the room divider you are using to delineate your kitchen and dining areas. It is making Chief not know how to handle that case. But Since you are trying to accomplish this: Set your Porch room above to have the floor provided by the room below. And your slab to build on top of the foundation stem wall: and you get this result: All auto build.

Never Mind I just opened your plan and they are just not aligned. You see that blue line with the black arrow facing up in the edit toolbar in my picture? That is the "align with wall above" tool. Do that and it will fix your issue.

How about your foundation wall? Did you draw it in a clockwise order so that the exterior of the wall is facing out like your exterior wall above?

Make sure the "exterior" sides of the walls are aligned between the two walls. If one is reversed then depending on your wall definition it may not align properly even when using align wall tool.

Look at the first page of the schedule dbx and the help file for scale and what scale to use.

He is not a licensed architect but a pretty good architectural designer in that area. I know he has some good engineers to help with any structural assistance needed. @Beautiful1

Very much so. This has also been asked three times in the past month. So when we mark the correct solution when others are searching they will come across multiples and be able to go directly to the answer and not make another post which can "muddy" the waters of the search features on the forum. Best to start your own question. But to answer your question once you have one of the walls selected that button will show up in the edit toolbar (specific to the selected item). Note this will only happen if the wall above or below is within a certain distance (within the general main layer window) or slightly off of being linearly aligned.

X14 was way less glitchy than x13. Most likely if you are seeing issues at this point with x14 it is a hardware issue or your template plan that is not dialed in for the x14 changes.

Glad that solved your issue. To help others who are searching for the same issue it is common to mark the answer that was correct as solving your issue so when someone has the same problem and the future does a search they can find the answer quickly.

Looks like your first floor exterior walls are set as a foundation wall set to build footings below in your structure panel of the wall dbx.

try setting it to trim framing to soffits in roof dbx

Place a bed. Convert it to a millwork symbol.

The majority of the doors in the library are not parametrically setup to make these adjustments but the door tool with chief is. Just a heads up for what you just learned for the future. Looks great btw!

Exactly the point. Doesn’t mean there aren’t users out there that don’t keep up with and can do the work you need. It is just a general indicator.

I personally don’t use the no material in the wall definition as I find it is more troublesome but what is the issue you are having with the method making the wall thickness wider and making sure the newell and rail is not set to use wall thickness?

Not sure what is up with downvote. 1. is correct. I didn't need to open your plan to see it in your pix. 2. will work but I agree that Robert's suggestion is better.

Better technique. Make the wall Wider but don't have newell set to be wall thickness. NOTE you will need to make the Wall larger by double what you want the setback. So if its a 4" wall and you want it 4" back from the edge you will make the wall thickness 12" and the newell 4"... Rough numbers for demonstration only. The wall/newells will be centered in the wall thickness but the deck will build to exterior of wall.

Forward compatibility only. Once a plan is opened and SAVED in a newer version it can no longer be opened in a previous version. But if you are farming out your work to someone who does not stay current and have SSA Personally for me that is a red flag regarding their experience level with the software. Not always but it can be someone who doesn't use it every day like the users who stay current.

1.)Didn't open the plan but you can see in your pic the extra material on your balusters as well. My guess is you are using a flooring texture instead of a seamless wood texture. 2.) Use an invisible wall for the deck edge and then place a railing inside that (you may have to place it away from the edge then precision move it close to the edge (also the railing wall may need to be marked as a partition wall depending on what your current railing settings are.
