  1. Now...I can watch this video. So what’s different?
  2. I was using my iPhone...don’t usually have trouble.
  3. Here’s a video I did a while back that explains how to create a face mounted deck rail...
  4. The link takes me to the video...there is a “play” arrow to press...when pressed nothing happens.
  5. Dave - these links aren’t working...at least for me they aren’t.
  6. Thanks Michael. One more question. If I am creating a plan to house standard details...do I just make a note of the scale the text is setup for...and what if I want to send a detail to layout at a different scale; do i have to open all the text and change the size? I guess what im asking is what is the general practice of those using a “std” details plan.
  7. I was reviewing the "Lake Point" plan set that Chief has posted on their "samples" page. The layout refers to two sets of plans...the house plan and a plan for the detail drawings. The details are drawn in Cad Detail windows. I noticed when I opened a detail that Chief did not use a specific "Annotation Set" for the details. The text for the details in on the "text" layer...which I find kind of weird. I would think you'd want the text on a layers such as "text, details"...or something like that. Yes? Also, the text is 1" tall...and the detail was sent to layout at 1" = 1'-0". So...the text is about 1/4" tall (is this right?)....1/4" seems to be about the height you'd want the text but wouldn't it be easier/smarter to just use an anno set that puts the text on the layer you want and sets the correct height/scale? Or...does the way Chief has done this have some benefits? Thanks all!
  8. You should post the plan... It looks like you have created a "pony wall" and you are using a molding line for the cap? If so, you need to click on the molding line and change the elevation. This is just an example...
  9. Thanks very much. I’m just experimenting with the music. iMovie has a limited selection...
  10. Quick (and simple) video on how to construct a manual and an automatic dormer. I'm building these on a "floor" with a "room"....if you should not try to build a dormer with a room on an attic level. Hope it helps...
  11. Take a look at my video on How to build Manual Dormers. Hope it helps...
  12. I did a video showing how to construct a "Gull Wing" roof automatically...no manual roofs. I'm not expert...so, maybe someone will chime in and "critique"? Hope it helps...
  13. You should...or someone should. You showed this to me a while back...but, I could not remember how to fix it. Argggggg....
  14. Michael...thanks so much. Very much appreciated!
  15. Why do you prefer “Screenflow” versus Camtasia. There is a big price difference. Are there other benefits? I’m trying to decide...I’m considering both. Thanks.
  16. Rocky...what you are seeing is the underside of the roof deck...not the soffit. Something is wrong with your roof and the soffit is not building. OK...you are getting quick!
  17. I agree...but Doug mentioned "solid subtraction doesn't seem to work"....therefore, the video.
  18. Ahh...ok, post any questions you may have. Take a look at the screen clip below...ceilings are different. This appears to be a plan for a remodel...so, possibly this is correct?
  19. One other thing I just noticed. The wall to the rear of the "bay" window does not align with the wall to the front of the bay...it's off about a half inch.
  20. One more question...Can you tell me why the roof pitch in the front is 6 7/16? Is this correct?
  21. Good thinking Richard...I'd never have thought of that.
  22. "EASY" is a relative term. If you know how to do these things...yes, then it's fairly simple. If you don't...well, frustration station is just ahead. If you are referring to the plan you posted recently...well, the entire plan is one big room. You can open "defaults" and go to floors/rooms tab and change the default height. The plan ceiling height will change. However, if you have a roof on this plan...the roof will not move. You will have to manually move the roof planes up or down in the "Z" axis the same dimension you raised or lowered the default ceiling height. (did we lose you?)
