  1. Yikes! That's only 1,823 files. And I was thinking of volunteering to convert a few for you. I think I'll defer to the Rabbitt on this one.
  2. I didn't look at your plan, but based on your image it looks like you have color toggled off.
  3. I don't know Eric... If the OP is looking for a riff-raff kind of look he just might be in the right place. There are river rocks and gravel in the Core Library if that will work for you.
  4. Chief has a selection of rusty corrugated metal siding in the Materials section of the Core Catalogs.
  5. Here you go @rikdekker. Upon further consideration I have come up with a simple workaround that will let you tint your mirror glass any color and have it render in all views including Standard View. All you have to do is create a thin 3D Solid the dimensions of the mirror glass and place it in front of the mirror. Now you can assign a colored glass material to the solid and tint the mirror any color you like. In the images below the top and bottom mirrors in the center are default mirrors from the library. The 4 mirrors flanking the stock ones on either side are obviously tinted to different colors. They will display in all camera types. Maybe this will work for you until such time as your suggestion is acted upon.
  6. Maybe the OP had something else in mind.
  7. You can't always get what you want (where did I hear that?). But in this case maybe you can get what you need. If you use the Rainbow Tool to change the mirror "Material Color" to Black and the "Material Class" to "General Material" you can achieve a "Black Mirror" in Ray Trace (CPU), PBR (GPU) and Vector views.
  8. Please do.... that's quite a daunting image. I don't know if I could "perform" under those circumstances.
  9. Forget about the metal siding? What is that material that they book matched on the corner of the building?
  10. Not to hi-jack my own thread or in any way disparage Joe, but I did not mark this thread as "Solved". In fact I hadn't even read the replies yet when it was marked as Solved. If I didn't then who else has the power to do so? Just trying to figure what happened and when? Original Post: 23 hours ago Joe's response: 20 hours ago I log in tonight - 22 hours since my last visit Go to read the new replies and find the thread marked as solved even though I haven't read the replies yet??? I think this is the point where I invoke the old standby...WTF? It's bad enough that we have people marking their own posts as the Solution. Now apparently anybody can mark my posts as Solved too. BTW, when I calm down I'll have a play with it Joe.
  11. Since there seems to be a lot of discussion about cabinets here lately I thought I would throw this one out there also. This little PITA is called a 3 Drawer Corner Cabinet. After wasting a couple of hours (including watching a Chief video) trying to wring this out of the Base Cabinet Spec DBX I threw in the towel and settled for a 5 minute hack since all I was after was the appearance and not the functionality. I just stuck a 3D Solid in the corner and slapped some drawer fronts from the library onto it. Just for my edification I'd like to know if this configuration is doable as a cabinet?
  12. Dude, what is up with the "current project siding" in your image? Looks like the Rainbow Tool gone awry.
  13. I prefer the Material Region approach to board & batten. You can use Chief's B&B as a starting point. Drag a MR over the first batten on one end of the wall. Use the DBX to adjust the MR to your liking. Then use the Multiple Copy tool to drag the MR across the wall. There you have it, real board & batten, easy peasy and much more believable in renderings.
  14. I find that the easiest way to determine what effect lights are having in a scene is to check the "show position in camera view" box and give the light a distinctive color.
  15. Are we getting any closer?
  16. It's ok... just kidding. I don't want to be the one to tell Michelangelo that he screwed up the Sistine Chapel ceiling... but I would rotate the two trees on the edges of the foreground just a tad so it's not apparent that the three trees in the foreground are identical. Just sayin.
  17. Well, I guess if anybody is entitled to hi-jack a thread you are. What have you been up to my man?
  18. Well, 49 views and no responses. I guess I can take that as a no. Guess I'll just have to drag my image into PSP and do some clean up. There's not much one can't do with the Clone Brush tool.
  19. Is there a way that I am unaware of to ameliorate the unfortunate way that the texture on radiused corners on countertops render? Changing the radius (not really a viable option) doesn't help nor does using Global Symbol Mapping.
  20. Interesting pic. Hope they are planning an exit strategy for the forest fire that appears to be raging in the background.
  21. I suggested this in 2016 and apparently I wasn't the first at that time. I think this would help users of all levels every time they use the program. Louie Louie, oh no, me gotta go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, baby
