Since there seems to be a lot of discussion about cabinets here lately I thought I would throw this one out there also. This little PITA is called a 3 Drawer Corner Cabinet. After wasting a couple of hours (including watching a Chief video) trying to wring this out of the Base Cabinet Spec DBX I threw in the towel and settled for a 5 minute hack since all I was after was the appearance and not the functionality. I just stuck a 3D Solid in the corner and slapped some drawer fronts from the library onto it. Just for my edification I'd like to know if this configuration is doable as a cabinet?

Dude, what is up with the "current project siding" in your image? Looks like the Rainbow Tool gone awry.

I prefer the Material Region approach to board & batten. You can use Chief's B&B as a starting point. Drag a MR over the first batten on one end of the wall. Use the DBX to adjust the MR to your liking. Then use the Multiple Copy tool to drag the MR across the wall. There you have it, real board & batten, easy peasy and much more believable in renderings.

There's a reason for everything.

I find that the easiest way to determine what effect lights are having in a scene is to check the "show position in camera view" box and give the light a distinctive color.

Are we getting any closer?

The Best Renderings Available-Rabbitt Design
Rich_Winsor replied to Renerabbitt's topic in Offering Services
It's ok... just kidding. I don't want to be the one to tell Michelangelo that he screwed up the Sistine Chapel ceiling... but I would rotate the two trees on the edges of the foreground just a tad so it's not apparent that the three trees in the foreground are identical. Just sayin.- 23 replies

Well, I guess if anybody is entitled to hi-jack a thread you are. What have you been up to my man?

Well, 49 views and no responses. I guess I can take that as a no. Guess I'll just have to drag my image into PSP and do some clean up. There's not much one can't do with the Clone Brush tool.

You need to update your Profile Photo Mr. B. -
Is there a way that I am unaware of to ameliorate the unfortunate way that the texture on radiused corners on countertops render? Changing the radius (not really a viable option) doesn't help nor does using Global Symbol Mapping.

Residential Design Contest - Entry Deadline July 14

Interesting pic. Hope they are planning an exit strategy for the forest fire that appears to be raging in the background. -
I suggested this in 2016 and apparently I wasn't the first at that time. I think this would help users of all levels every time they use the program. Louie Louie, oh no, me gotta go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, baby

Sorry, I couldn't resist..

I use Paint Shop Pro but any image editing program will work. Just set your canvas size to 128 x 128 as Chop mentioned and you have about 16,000 pixels to work with. It's a bit of an art form to work in such a minimal area but when you get what you like save it as a PNG file and put in in Chief's buttons folder. C:\Program Files\Chief Architect\Chief Architect Premier X14\resources\buttons Some examples:

As Mick mentioned Xfrog (https://www.xfrog.net/) has 3D modeling software. You might want to download their free trial and see if it meets your needs. They also have thousands of 3D pants available in their libraries and collections.

Very nice indeed. +1

Came across these totally by chance. I was going thru Chief's 3D Library looking for some interesting lighting fixtures when I stumbled onto the fairly new Niche catalog. I kind of liked the pictured pendant light fixtures. As an E.B.E. they of reminded me of the mothership .... but I digress. Included in the download, but not mentioned anywhere, are some nice material options including colored glass and metal finishes. Just a FYI.

When you're done using a tool, return it to it's proper place. Why can't these clowns grasp the concept that it is far more efficient to take a few seconds or a minute or two to put the damn thing back where it belongs than to have to whole crew standing around looking at each other when the guy who used it last didn't come in today and no one knows where he put it. Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest.

You know, I always thought that way when we see numerous posts asking the OP to move their post to the appropriate forum. Then again, how would we know how many have actually deleted and moved their original posts?

Joey, FYI when my mouse cursor crosses over the round thingy with your logo in it this is what is displaying.

How should I go about modeling this? I just want to know who draws up these plans? Check out what's out there. https://www.airbnb.com/s/homes?search_mode=flex_destinations_search&date_picker_type=flexible_dates&category_tag=Tag%3A8225
