  1. I'm not saying anyone has to change anything, just merely showing a different side.
  2. Yes you can have the terrain on any level you choose, just delete and create on that level.
  3. Yes, but Chief is not AutoCAD, completely different engine. Over the years Chief has had some problems with those cards.
  4. Have some fun and re-generate yourself. Lots of work and X7 coming soon. On your way up look at this very small town called Olancha, believe it or not ,I lived there as a kid, they filmed a "twilight zone" in our house. My mom wore a radiation badge b/c we could see the mushroom cloud over the mountains. Not many people alive can say they have seen a mushroom cloud.
  5. Chief has said in the past that the Quadro cards could cause some problems, they recommend a gaming card not a cad card
  6. Thanks guys, that's out of the box thinking for sure
  7. I never make changes in front of the client, too much can happen. I also don't want to be there any more than I have too. I send movies to the client, to see the 3d. Very simple to do and a 3 min video takes 3 minutes to make. They can also watch it as many times as they want at their leisure..
  8. I have also seen this condition before, try updating your mouse drivers or just use the generic Microsoft driver and see if that helps. I don't see this anymore.
  9. Yes, he has done many video's on this a while back, check chieftutor.com. I don't think he has any recent one's.
  10. Thanks Buddy, He usually announces his vacations.
  11. It doesn't I was answering his question about a method where he could have a foundation, basement, 1st floor plans that will re-generate the foundation walls correctly. Foundation alignment is then possible. I never put a basement w- rooms on the foundation level.
  12. If you make your bay a separate room then you can use "cantilevered underside" in the materials section. the only problem is that you cant adjust the thickness thus sometimes you get some z-fighting with the flr jsts in the seat. You just have to turn off the flr joists in that view, to get what you need.
  13. Yes it is backwards but that's how you do it. Joe, where's Scott, haven't seen him around these parts lately?
  14. I keep my template plans and layouts in my X6 folder so when I come across something not just right, I just open them and fix and re-save for any new jobs. It would be nice if Chief had a "Make default" for everything that would automatically go to your templates
  15. All of my main details are already in the layout, Done. All the others are in the lib. I just modify a detail as needed and I have many to choose from. Very rarely do I ever draw a cad detail as I have just about every condition already available to me. Nothing like a lib that has just about everything you need, but it takes years to get it just right.
  16. You can make the basement floor 1 and go up from there. then no problem. this method also will give you a foundation plan.
  17. Turn off soffits in the roof DBX. The sub fascia controls the eave overhang if soffits are on. No sure if that's whats going on with you though.
  18. If I have to rotate a plan, I just rotate in the layout--not the plan.
  19. You can also control the showing of window labels for each window in the window DBX--label tab
  20. Check your mouse for an updated driver or low batteries
  21. I also add S.C. for solid core to the door label.
  22. Some rooms might have a ceiling and a floor above, that's why we have this, no matter what floor its on, like a garage with a second floor over part of the room. The 1 story portion of the room will have ceiling joists.
  23. Yes there is a bug, when you uncheck "Obscure glass in vector views" in the 3d DBX ,it should do it. It works for glass doors
