  1. Thanks, I didn't know that, wouldn't that be 22", that would really screw with trusses at 24" o.c. I'll never get into any attic, headroom problems and I'm to old to do it. I have my contractors do it and take pic's also. I'd break the client's ladder or chair.
  2. They don't have to, the filters are in the ceiling. for easy changing
  3. Joe, if I did any jobs in freezing climate's, I would also do that, but I don't, and builders around here just don't want to use the space for utilities
  4. Here in California we almost now exclusively install the FAU/ in the attic space. For some reason Spray foam insulation is not used at all. I tried a few years ago and the foam company couldn't get state approval here, so we just put in the fiberglass batts
  5. I think the "x" is actually the plenum portion of the FAU.
  6. There are others, but I can't remember off the top of my head. I know I turned this one in a long time ago.
  7. for one, Take a wall elevation of a Cabnet and try to change the countertop to 100, it just doesn't do it.
  8. Look like some kind of ceiling to me. Make it an open below room.
  9. I agree, some of the line weights just aren't working in some views.
  10. This is the most spam EVER.
  11. They bribe the plan checker, simple as that. Went in to the city the other day and the plan checker said it will be 4 weeks before he could get to it. He also said that he could do it during his off hours for $500. The city of Yorba Linda fired their inspectors and plan checkers (cleaned house) for taking bribes. about a year ago. That's what we have become. Does anyone just do their job anymore?. They become too busy at work doing who knows what and take all the plan checks on the side, double the money, why not.
  12. If you look closely at the washer dryer symbols, you see that Chief has put a period at the back for a wall separation distance, at least I think that's how they do it now.
  13. Especially the place in cabinet outlets, they have never worked correctly even though I have reported it.
  14. Looks like you need to lower or turn off the ceilings in those rooms
  15. I don't think it works, tried it and nothing. Works only in vector view, if it worked at all. Not a good tool if you ask me.
  16. Very easily done automatically by adjusting it in the wall DBX. Chief has videos on this
  17. Hay, I could use it for those times when a hip rafter slips below the ceiling line ( always happens) instead of turning the roof framing off, which I don't like to do b/c I like seeing the rafter tails through the windows. I'll give it a try and see if this thing works
  18. I just place an (e) in the label, draw the as-builts then Place an (n) when I'm ready to draw the new plan I also do that with doors and fixtures. It all set up in my template plan.
  19. I agree Joey, we are just trying to get Chief to let us do it within the program. They have come a long way to doing just that, a little more tweaking is all that's needed at this point.
  20. I am using 8.1 and not having any issues like that. I also upgraded from win 7
  21. There are also some file recover programs you can install for free.
  22. IMO get the best video card you can but I don't think you need 8gb, I have 3gb and its been more then enough. I have the NVidia 780 gtx 3gb and it work fine and fast but the best upgrade I ever did was an SSD hard drive, that really kept things fast
