  1. That wall was broke at one time but re-connected at some point along the way, I'm running into this a lot lately. Thanks
  2. Here is a short video explaining what I think is going on in most cases to create the corner exposed studs http://screencast.com/t/S9NKlbWb0mqG
  3. I have seen the same thing and fixed it by selecting the lower wall and editing a sliver wall that seems to extend all the way to the 2nd floor plate line. Its a very thin wall segment and you have to drag it down to the 1st level. Seems to me a little bug got in with the new update.
  4. I have seen a video you did a while back using Redstick and its pretty slick, you have a nice setup.
  5. Most of the time I have a builder with me as I measure, but I really don't want their help, They can keep the homeowner busy so the HO don't follow me around, watching every move. They usually love all the gadgets I use, like the Disto and the Echo pen that records everything I say and write to my computer. I record every conversation. It has saved my builders, lawsuits. Just the other day a client said they wanted A/C included ( they live by the beach). Now the job is done, they want their A/C and threatened to go to court. I pulled out my audio file sent it to the builder--guess what- they said they didn't want A/C . I also tell each customer they are being recorded so I don't forget anything. They never have a problem with that. Using the program all I have to do is put my curser on any line or note on the page to get the exact audio from when I drew that line or note, easy to find stuff.
  6. You can change the material-pattern lines where Scott says. Then you don't have to change each layout view.
  7. How the *ell do you guys hold all of that stuff, I don't want to use a table and move it from room to room. I'm only there for 1 hour at the most.
  8. I totally forgot about saving walls to the lib. It works, except for maybe, if you have a lot of different interior walls, you would have to save each one. Definitely do-able .
  9. That's probably b/c you use a solid fill for the rooms. Does the same thing especially for using reference sets.
  10. I don't think you did
  11. The software links on the taskbar has also been disappearing for a few versions now, not sure why. I just drag a new one there.
  12. I'm pretty sure Leica doesn't know how to use room planner either, so they faked it.
  13. I also put the interior walls on their own layer for referencing them and you don't really want them on the site and roof plans. There is no way that I know of to default them to ant other layer than walls so you have to do them manually for now, maybe X-7.
  14. Do not question Bill, he is the resident Trek guru.
  15. I think Disto did the video, not Chief
  16. Is the library a tool? Hundreds of items there.
  17. I'm surprised Chief hasn't fixed the pdf thing for Mac,s yet. I think they said it was a vendor problem and not theirs a while ago. You can re-scan them as "PNG" and that should work for you, or just have them send it as a PNG file to you. I am glad I'm not having that problem. It's nutty.
  18. Jim, do you live around here or do plans from out of the area? I have never tried a foundation from a footprint in fact I have never used the footprint or a cad detail for a foundation.
  19. It boils down to this if you want your foundation and basement level on the same plan use "0" for basement. If you want a separate foundation plan use level 1 for your basement. I have so many things on the foundation plan (required in this area)I simply can't use level "0" for basement plans.
  20. I do agree and have said in other posts, not to use level 0 for basement's, for those that need a foundation plan. I still want the credit from Keith though. Stealing my thunder is against the law.
  21. Is it turned on in the preferences ?
