A Few Problems With Walls, Doors And Base Mold
DRAWZILLA replied to 4hotshoez's topic in General Q & A
I usually cover that up with a p-solid tile curb, but you might want the glass to go into the floor as I have done a few of those lately. In that case follow Michael's method. -
The Magician software has upgraded twice since I've had one, I like Rapid mode and if I lose some time on my SSD so be it. Cost of doing business. Maybe they have fixed it.
-
When strange things start up Re-start is #1 on my list.
-
I use the new floor and ceiling beam tools and they stay in place even when auto framing, Chief also puts them on their own layer.
-
You can also create a new toolbar with all your things in it using the " Place Lib. Object" tool.

Electical Outlet In Elevation View, Turn 90 Deg?
DRAWZILLA replied to ACADuser's topic in General Q & A
Back in the hand drawing days I could spit out 150 a year. They were only 2 pages then. Another Cali. guy he can relate to our struggles -
I'll send you the texture which includes the pattern. I'll put it here in a minute randem pattern 1.plan

A render is just a standard camera view, if you then want a raytrace, you must hit the raytrace button once you have the render up. If you are doing a render make sure your resolution is the highest setting in your video card DBX then make the scene as large as you can on your screen then send the render to your layout.

LA county--hate it but have done a ton there. Nice to have someone in the neighbor hood close by. -
Yes renders are not raytraces. If you are doing a raytrace, you can up the resolution but it will take longer to do.
-
This is something I did that is similar to what you want. I fount this pattern somewhere but I don't remember where now
-
Are you sure you are doing a raytrace, or a rendering?

I still say the trusses will delete the rafters underneath them. Changing them to floor joists might work.
-
I f you put all your pdf's in the plan file, then it always knows where it is, and you don't need "save in plan"

Electical Outlet In Elevation View, Turn 90 Deg?
DRAWZILLA replied to ACADuser's topic in General Q & A
Joey, Orange county, That's where most of my work is, I've done over 4000 projects there over the last 40 years. Your a neighbor. Have you been there long, we also have a few others here. -
Did you open the pdf and check save in plan? I save all my pdf's in the plan file but if you don't make sure you check this.

Trusses will delete any stick built framing automatically so you will have to do it manually. There is also a bug where mixing stick built framing on a second floor over trusses will delete some of the trusses below. I told chief about this several versions ago. The answer is to do it manually. You may have to fake some section views with cad lines and p-lines to look correct.

Try the room wizard, that's a quick way to get started with the layout. Its in the space planning section of tools

I'll bet he is still wondering how anyone did this. teach a man to fish thing. -
If you leave that gap between walls don't forget to call it a room, of some kind (I call them Closets, so its included in the S.F. ) or your square footage and foundation will not be correct.
-
Yes you are Scott, and you can go first in the door, I'll bring up the rear. It depends where his office is.

Jim, I don't want to come alone, you know, that saw in half thing.
