  1. X4 to X8 is a large jump, you should expect some fix up.
  2. Also remember Chief is not a large commercial type software, It's fast for me but I never do those kinds of projects.
  3. Joe's package does a lot more than that.
  4. Not allowed to talk about X9 even if I have it at all, can't answer any questions. As with every new version the program just gets better without question.
  5. I'm not sure that is possible b/c everyone has their own way of naming things depending on where they are, I got that symbol from someone else a long time ago, you can always re-name it.to what works for you. It would certainly be nice to have that, but not sure it will ever happen.
  6. You can also add it to your user lib. and get it whenever you want, but save it from the layout to the lib. so it's scaled correctly.
  7. I used that program a long time ago but I actually like text macro's better b/c if you change the macro, it changes everything in the plan automatically. Pigeonhole doesn't do that.
  8. FYI, I have met and spent a little time with Greg Wells, Pres. of Chief, and he is very passionate and motivated about making Chief the best there is, you don't have to worry about that. Very nice guy and easy to talk to also. He seems to be very hands on. Scott Harris is also very knowledgeable and could teach us all a lesson or two . I was lucky enough to meet a lot of the people at chief and was very impressed with all. I wish everyone could do that,
  9. I know Joe has his own roof macro system setup, and custom roof schedule.
  10. I usually get my butt kicked on a regular basis, by my wife, so I'm used to it. Thank you , may I have another.
  11. I'm not sure you are aware that you just gave yourself -3 points.
  12. here is a short video showing how to change the cad block associated with the symbol. http://screencast.com/t/Bw5KuQdAaTWz
  13. after you change the cad block, save it to your lib. to use again and again
  14. yes just change the cad block associated with the switch to whatever you want.
  15. Also check your Electrical defaults and see what you have as defaults.
  16. I do it all in Adobe Acrobat and add it to the PDF..
  17. here is one door jamb switch.calibz
  18. I can't say anything except, you will love the responsiveness of this plan in X9. of course my system is pretty good too.
  19. Usually X9 officially releases around Feb.(never know for sure) but the final public Beta will be real soon, if you have X8, and SSA and beware, you can't go back once a plan is brought forward into X9 so copy the plan or layout
  20. Stairs need floors to connect to, be a deck or porch has to be a room
  21. When Chief first started with the reputation points,A while back I asked for them, so they gave them to me, and I got booted for a while.
  22. Yep a very large plan will do it. You may just have to live with it for this one.. You can turn off things until you are ready to print, like large amounts of molding and round railings
