  1. You can always select marquee similar and select marquee all. Much better to adjust your floor definition in defaults though.

  5. Watch a pre-recorded version as it was LIVE- streamed on FB and YT. My first attempt at solving all of the issues on the Q&A Forums First page For Feb 11 This is Episode 2 in the series
  6. First off, you have your roughness set to 100%? whereas 0 would be "shiny" but moreover, change your material class to Transparent
  7. This is already in the tile builder...maybe, scroll down in your menu?
  8. An old habit, I have to make a post and then go back and re-edit it(the way my brain works) but you guys beat me to it. I have a text box with a macro. I want that macro to report the value for a layer of a reference object via a leader. If no leader exists, then I would like it to report the layer of the text box that it is contained in. This method works...but why? why does the referenced layer supersede the owner? Is this an order of operations that is constant?
  9. I have a condition where I want a variable to report a referenced layer name, but if no reference exists, report its own layer name. Any help is greatly appreciated
  10. I think I spoke to an owner/owner rep last year that was interested in retaining my services. I submitted a resume, strictly freelance and could guarantee a number of jobs per quarter through my company.
  11. yup yup, tag @Bob-Roraback
  12. @Bob-Roraback maybe an easy tool is taking advantage of a label macro in a polyline for perimeter. draw a line, break the line, then simplify it and add a macro to the label a=perimeter.to_f if a>=(input your length) a="4x King Stud Ea. Side" else a="2x King Stud Ea. Side" end
  13. Yeah, what you mentioned was my current workflow. Just seems very clunky. Ive come up with a way to disable all snaps cept for midpoint and orthogonal which lets me point and click with the Light Tool. A lot faster and feels as I feel that it should. I would love to have this as an option for overhead lights by default. Just click and click and click, boom, 3 lights, right where I want them. Still wish it was better, something closer to Chief just reading my mind.

  15. I've been using the Copy/Paste Tool in the Edit Toolbar to drag instances of Lights that I've placed. I do this specifically because of all of the inference snaps that occur in conjunction with orthogonal inference that makes it very difficult to center my next fixture to my last in one action. Am I possibly missing a better method?
  16. I don't have anything at the moment but please drop me a line. renerabbitt@gmail.com. I'm in Oakland and things pop up.

  18. FYI you do not need to have a separate default set to accomplish what you are trying to accomplish. You could do this by editing your active views selected defaults.
  19. You may be correct, I am uncertain, but to the effect that new capabilities may warrant a re-working anyway? Same way utilizing SPV's was worthwhile effort to establish in new templates for all projects moving forward. I personally use the Active Dimension Default dropdown religiously now, much improved workflow! I know that I had issues in legacy plans until I transferred them
