SHCanada2
FYI: I opened up an existing plan and the dishwasher in cabinet now looks like this: had to go into the dishawsher in the cabinet and offest -6 to give:
Joe_Carrick
I can confirm this, not only for dishwashers but also for wall ovens in cabinets. I had to open the object and set the bounding box y-offset to 0. I've submitted a bug report.
Joe_Carrick
FWIW, in X17 a Dishwasher doesn't insert into a cabinet. It is placed instead of a cabinet and the countertop generates on top of it..That way the Dishwasher is placed correctly in the plan view. But any existing plans brought into X17 at this time will need to be fixed.

All you need to do is edit the y offset of the bounding box to 0. The other option is to just delete the cabinet and place the dishwasher from the library. X17 symbols work correctly when placed that way. You will have a countertop above the dishwasher - or you can create a custom countertop over all the cabinets and the dishwasher. I have groupings of kitchen cabinets, one if of a sink and DW and some cabinets, so I will need to fix it up and save it back to the library. Thank you! Steve_Nyhof
All fixed up and back in the library. Now I hope they don't change something that messes it up

X17 treats DWs as being installed between cabinets vs in a cabinet - just like they ar installed/built in a kitchen.

I tried that and it did not work
Wynsong
How do you get the countertop to appear over the dishwasher? I don't see anything in the DBX that gives that option. Do you have to extend the countertop from the next cabinet? Sure don't remember this from the X17 changes that were discussed as Beta testers. DBCooper
The new dishwashers in X17 are designed to be free standing. If you place one next to a base cabinet, or in between two of them, the program should automatically extend the counter top over it. If you are using an old one that is designed to go into a cabinet, I don't think it will work.

Joe_Carrick Posted yesterday at 03:24 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:24 AM Offset should be 0 Bounding Box y should also be 0 However, I find that placing a Dishwasher or Trash Compactor or a Wine Refrigerator on a wall at 45 degrees is pretty much impossible. I will investigate further and report my findings to Chief. I suspect it's a problem with any angle other than 0 and 90.
Joe_Carrick Posted yesterday at 12:50 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:50 PM X17 has many new options for symbols. For DW's, TC's, and similar appliances the following can be used: Appliances (built-in base cabinets) Appliances (under wall cabinets) Appliances (undercounter) If you have any such items in a "Place Library Object" toolbar button you can find the object in your library and edit the Options to make it function properly. Most - if not all Core, Bonus and Manufacturer Library objects will already have those properly set. You should however check the User Library Objects. Rene - take note
DBCooper
"built-in base cabinets" and "under wall cabinets" have been in the program for a very long time. I can't tell for sure but I don't think any thing has really changed with these settings (other than the bug that Jason posted about). Hopefully they get that fixed quickly so that we don't need to fix up all of our old plans when we bring them into X17. The "undercounter" appliance is new so I don't think this will affect any existing user libraries. It looks like all of the dishwashers in the core libraries have been setup this way. I think this is why they can be placed as free standing objects and will get an automatic counter now.
Joe_Carrick
Most of the Core Library undercounter appliances don't currenty work properly. They don't display flush with the cabinet fronts and many don't add a panel if at the end of a cabinet run. I've reported this to Chief. It appears all of the Manufacturer Libraries are properly updated but some items may have been missed.
