JKEdmo
I have a quick question: I've read that drawing walls in a clockwise manner is recommended practice. I was wondering why and if this is still relevant with latest releases such as X15. Thank you, Jim
Solution scottharris Posted April 27, 2023 Solution Share Posted April 27, 2023 Drawing exterior walls clockwise can keep the outside layer on the outside. If you draw them counterclockwise, once a room is formed, the walls will auto adjust to the outside. So, it may not really matter which way you draw them. I was not aware walls will "flip" to outside when forming a room. Jim

I think it became "Automatic" in X12 ( someone will correct me no doubt ) , it's one on the Options quickly accessed by Alt-Q ( General Wall Defaults ), I think it's still a good Practice , since CA doesn't always get it right , but then I am used to it and it is SOP. Rich_Winsor
I believe the "recommended" practice is to draw walls in a clockwise direction in the northern hemisphere and in a counterclockwise direction in the southern hemisphere. 2

What if you are on the equator? Thanks to all. Jim
DBCooper
If you draw a house at the north pole, then all your walls will be south facing. I think this will cause the auto flip to turn it inside out unless you first use the "rotate plan view" tool to rotate it -360 degrees.
