dhurst
I'm not sure that I saw and answer to this question, but is there a way to create a macro for door labels to be 2'-6" x 6'-8" in lieu of 2668 or 30" x 80"?
Joe_Carrick
Yes. Did you want to know how?

agenoarch
Never liked the door labels because so many times client question why a 26" door and I have to explain it's 2'-6". I don't always use a door schedule and It's misleading and maybe an update for X15 is due.
robdyck
FWIW in a 1/4" scale plan (or smaller) I wouldn't have room for a door label reading: 2'-6" x 6'-8". So I use inches. For 1/4" scale: 30" x 80" For 3/16" scale or smaller I omit the space between the width and height: 30"x80" For garage doors I use feet-inches: 10'-0"W x 8'-0"H This method has kept suppliers and trades from phoning me with the obvious questions....until I have a builder who demands the format 2668. Then, you get to explain to every homeowner, and some of the trades and suppliers what that means:) And that default (old-timey) format fails when you need to use metric windows (1500x1500) displayed with imperial labels (411411)! O Canada!!!
DBCooper
In X14, all you need to do is copy this into your door label: %width.to_s("'-\"")% x %height.to_s("'-\"")% I got this from calling tech support and talking to someone that really knows how this stuff works. 1

Takes me back over 20 years ago when I was a college boy working at a lumber yard learning about door and window sizes & other building materials. Not knowing one day I would be designing homes for a living and being familiar with things like this.
jtcapa1
We have asked that CA consider adding the option of making the inches side of the label a superscript, so that inches are smaller than the feet. That is the way us old timers used to draft those labels.
