Room label not showing

Recommended Posts

I am trying to integrate a 'room' schedule into my plans so there is not so much clutter. If I generate a window schedule, the window label is automatically inserted on the plan. When I do the same for a 'room' schedule the room schedule label does not show on the plan. I do have 'use callout for label' checked. I also restarted the computer with no change in behavior. Maybe this is the intended behavior for a room schedule??

Hopefully one of the many experts on this site can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance...

Steve

you do have to tell Chief to include the room in the schedule. Open the rooms DBX and tell it to include in the schedule.

Rooms do not currently have the ability to automatically display a schedule callout instead of the normal room label.  You could use a manual solution like turning off the room labels and placing your own callouts or using a note schedule instead.

If you want the program to work differently, then I would encourage you to make an actual feature request.  To make a feature request, you should make a post on the suggestions forum here:

I was talking about a room finish schedule, which I use for a room schedule

I am also using a room finish schedule, but only including dimensions and area.

I'd suggest turning off all the extra layers that can be included in a room label except for ROOM LABELS so that the name only display in plan view.

As Dermot mentioned, there are various methods, but one of the easiest for your example is to just create a callout like this....

....and then copy/paste it into all your rooms.

I'm using a custom Note Schedule to create a more comprehensive Room Schedule.
