decorators3
Hi I created a walkthrough video but it is too large to send by email. It is 1.6G Can the size of the video be reduced ? I am operating with CA premier10 Thanks Levina
Chopsaw
You are going to restrict yourself too much trying to email video's. Upload to a cloud server and email the link or upload to YouTube and send a private link - it is free and unlimited.
Chrisb222
Just a suggestion, but why not upload a 3D Viewer Model, let the client explore on their own...?

I am operating with CA premier10 Thanks Levina Not using the Default Video Codec may help but Video Files will always be large , likely too big for the average email box which is usually about 25mb, aany why Cheif now Offers the 360 Service to all Users with SSA, it pretty easy to setup as it is part of your digital locker...certainly easier than making Walkthroughs... I am operating with CA premier10 Thanks Levina Codecs aside convert the output file format to WebM-either with free on line convertor or dedicated program. I've not tried any of the online ones and trial version of Wondershare only converts 1/3 of the video. I had been using Active Presenter for a while to do screen recording which is where I first found the format. WebM files can be opened by most browsers (not Safari) so no need to download another program to watch. BUT you likely need to tell whoever you send it to that is what opens it. Link to what opens a webm Just tested Wondershare-if I had the full version it would take this 773 mb AVI file (recorded in QHD) from a walkthrough and output a 27MB WebM file in UHD. IF it the output is changed to 1280 x 720 the file size drops to under 15MB

rispgiu
you could also you WETRANSFER.COM It is free Or if you want to make the file smaller, after it has been exported, you can use another freeware called HANDBRAKE

decorators3
Thank you for all your suggestions and assistance. I notice there are various ways of handling situations which is good for me because I can opt for what is comfortable but not opposed to trying different solutions This brings me to my next little scenario. I have watched the on line tutorial videos over and over again as well as read the help tutorials on creating walkthroughs. there are 2 ways to create videos A.) plan view with spline B.) 3D using the Mouse dolly Camera. The spline video is great in vector view but speedy in standard view even though I have slowed the frames per second..and takes a long time because of the many frames. The video in 3D Camera Full View is a much better PB rendering but I find it hard to control the mouse Dolly. The on line help video https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/10190/ for Kitchen and bath accessibility is smooth and slow. My attached video is fast and jerky even though i have tried slowing down the frames per second. Is there a best way to create video SPLINE OR 3D..? or just practice practice .if there is a special technique I would appreciate your input. Thanks in advance Levina adam 1.avi

Once you've restarted the program, the option for Xvid will be available in your Render preferences. After you've set the preferred codec, you can re-record your walkthrough and the video output should be much smaller and play normally on pretty much any system. Thanks in advance Levina adam 1.avi It helps to know what typical videos are recorded as. So, here's some things to keep in mind when creating your settings: 1. A typical video on YouTube is recorded at 24 frames per second. This affects how smooth the playback is, not necessarily how long the video is. 2. Next, you will want to make sure you specify a length of time along the path, or in your manual movements that makes sense. Playback can seem really fast if you've told the program you want to run all the way through the house in under a minute and you want that played back at 15 to 24 frames per second. Think about how long it might take you to walk through the distance of your planned path and set the total length of the video to that amount of time. Hope that information is helpful. decorators3
Thanks for your response. Do you have a preference either spline through floor plan or 3d through Camer View??
KirkClemons
Depends on the desired effect. I find that I can produce better quality walkthroughs if I use the spline because the movements are less jerky.
decorators3
That is true but I do like the PB rendering with the camera view walkthrough so I guess its a personal preference with lots of practice
Chopsaw
The spline is smoother and works well as a silent film or with audio track dubbed in. The Camera view walkthrough is effective with narration like you might do in a live web presentation.
