Joe_Carrick
I've noticed that I'm getting duplicates of materials in the Plan in X10. I didn't notice this in previous versions - but it may have been there. Is there any way to "merge" those duplicates into a single material? I really don't like having more than one "Drywall", etc. The list just gets too long.
rlackore
I'm still on X9, but maybe X10 still has the Merge button in the Plan Materials dbx?

Yep, it’s still there. Joe, you just need to group select the materials for the merge button to become valid.
Kbird1
I have also noticed this in recent Files , but haven't figured out "The Why" , but you would think the "System" would Merge them automatically if the are Identical.... M.

It's been a long time since I needed that.
DRAWZILLA
I am also noticing the duplicates with materials, I do know in X10 Chief has re-done the materials, but which one do you keep. How can the merge if they are different. They have the same name.
Ridge_Runner
My X9 does this also. I get frustrated constantly removing the identical material. Note: it doesn't usually show as "used" but is listed.
DougMaddox
Also, I have noticed when exporting to .3DS format to go to Sketchfab, that all the used materials (even if they are duplicates) get exported as separate entities including any textures. Sketchfab only allows up to 100 textures - sometimes only 60 or 70. Hence the model in Sketchfab is grey with no textures or materials.
