Rachael_Venue
Hi All - I don't have enough space on my C drive to continue using Chief Architect there. Does anyone know how I can move it to a different drive (D Drive)?

DRAWZILLA
I would say , move something else to the other drive. You can move just the data file to another drive without a problem if you want
Rachael_Venue
Okay, I will try using the windows ability. Thank you. Now, for someone that isn't super computer savvy, can you tell me where I can find the windows ability and the user folder you referred to? =)

In Chief Preferences you can set the Paths by browsing to the new location(s) I've been using this for several years.
lbuttery
I started with Chief 9.5 and put Chief on another drive did same with Chief 10 however, every time I called tech support they claimed that was my issue so I put Chief on C: and have been doing so ever since check with CA's tech support first - maybe its not an issue now ??? Rachael_Venue
I actually found info on the Chief Website for installing on another drive, other than the C default. I uninstalled on C drive and reinstalled on D drive... Looks like it worked.
javatom
You will be back to the forum before long with a list of things not working right. Stay with what works. The analogy might be a mechanic that has customized some part of the engine to his car. Most people just want to drive the car with the least amount of headaches.
VHampton
Agreed that C drive is the recommended location according to many posts over the years. ...For some reason sooner or later, you may or may not experience a random wonky issue, and invariably it has to do with the drive placement.
