  1. Most of the OOTB tile-able materials use 256x256 texture files, some use 512x512.
  2. I agree, after experimenting it appears that it's an issue with curved walls that have only a main layer. As soon as I assign a second layer - to the interior OR the exterior of the single main layer, I get the correct pattern on the interior face.
  3. Page 689 in the Reference Manual will give you a glimpse into the minds of the Chief programmers, and may help you dial in the building pad elevation.
  4. I'll send this off to tech support. Thanks to everyone for looking at the issue.
  5. Misty, I wasn't trying to be a smart alec - just brief. I don't know if the X7 Reference Manual is available yet, as the software is still in Beta, and I'm running X6; but the X6 manual gives you a pretty good indication of the software's capabilities and how it does things. As Kevin mentioned, square footage calcs are set up in the defaults, but these calcs may, or may not, give you exactly what you want, which is why I mentioned the Reference Manual. As far as the libraries are concerned, I'd expect that you can import them into the trial software, but I don't think you'll be able to download the Bonus and Manufacturer libraries until you've purchased the software. Regarding the plan you meant to attach: when you're including an attachment in your post, be sure to click the Add to Post button - the Attach This File button doesn't actually stick the file into the post:
  6. No, I have the texture - it's custom, the path you queried is a network path. It's included in the zip file of the plan.
  7. I tried your method - it worked except that I had to have a non-zero layer on the inside. The new wall also did the +Z direction jump.
  8. You can't change the default floor elevations - the fist floor will always be at 0'-0". Once the Terrain Perimeter is built, adjust the Pad Elevation in the Terrain Specification dbx to raise/lower the Terrain Perimeter to where you want it.
  9. No plan is attached. The X6 reference manual is available here: http://cloud.chiefarchitect.com/1/pdf/documentation/chief-architect-x6-reference-manual.pdf
  10. Wall material is both sides - standard view shows up fine - just vector that doesn't give pattern lines on interior side. Here's a plan of just the wall:Curved Wall.zip
  11. The vector view pattern on my curved wall shows on the exterior: ...but not on the interior: This is very annoying when shooting elevations and sending to layout. Has anyone else experienced this problem, or know of a solution?
  12. I completely agree. The default coordinate system shouldn't change between views. Ideally, Chief would give us the ability to change the origin and orientation of the coordinate system as we please - this has been suggested several times before.
  13. Joe, we can put this issue to bed. I now know that door symbols don't want stretch planes or zones defined. The symbol name is Commercial Steel Door.
  14. I know it's up to the user to define the zones and planes; what I saying is that when I define stretch zones for a door symbol, I get weird re-sizing results as I illustrated in my first post. IOW, door symbols behave differently than other symbols.
  15. Joe, I understand the difference. What I think is interesting is that door symbols, when created, don't require either zone or plane to be defined. Doesn't this seem strange?
  16. Brilliant. An online warehouse for Chief symbols would be fantastic.
  17. The door symbol was created with Chief polyline solids - very basic - no stray artifacts. What led me astray was that I failed to follow Chief's tutorial instructions TO THE LETTER - nowhere in the tutorial does it mention assigning stretch zones when creating a custom door symbol. In my defense, I think it is very logical to assume that a door symbol should have stretch zones. This another case of Chief's quirkiness - some of the software's means and methods run counter to each other.
  18. Maybe it would be helpful if library items could be tagged with metadata to aid in searching.
  19. You wouldn't be forced - object snapping/tracking can be turned on or off easily - you know this. There's nothing wrong with adding additional functionality to object tracking when it doesn't affect how you already work, and enhances how others may prefer to work.
  20. Oh, heck, never mind. It appears that defining the stretch zones was a mistake.
  21. I've created a custom door symbol - my first attempt - but it doesn't re-size properly when I change the width to anything other than the original width. The door has stretch zones defined; it was created as a 36inx84in size. Here are some pictures of it re-sized to 24" wide: ... and 48" wide: Any clues are appreciated. Here is the symbol: Door Symbol.calibz
  22. Just when I think I'm smart, Chief shows me I'm more stupider than I thought.
