    Framing Dimension Format

Yes, that would be ideal. I'm using the macro to auto generate the length but cant figure out how to do it in feet instead of inches.

Keeping Stair Sections From Merging Into A Single Section

How do you do a straight set that has open railing at the bottom on one side for say 5 treads and then it is closed between two walls at the top?

Moving dimensions to the front group

I had them like that but was having a hard time with other layers showing on top. Seems strange that Chief wouldn't have a setting for one of the most important pieces of information in the plan (measurements) to be always on top or at least be able to move to the top.

Moving dimensions to the front group

Does any one know how to move the dimensions to the front in X8? I am dimensioning some beams in a crawl space that I moved to the front group and the dimension arrow is know hidden under the beam.

    Overhangs In X8

Thanks for the reply. That seems like an easy way to do it.

    Overhangs In X8

I'm building a roof with exposed 2 x 6 Rafters, 1" rough sawn boards, 3 layers of 2" foam, 2" Sleepers, and corrugated metal on top. The 1" rough sawn and the three layers of 2" foam need to stop at the wall so the overhang looks like an old shed....open underneath showing the sleepers and metal only from the bottom. Is there a way to accomplish this in X8 without drawing separate roof planes for the overhangs?

    Interior Doors Close To Corner

I am using x7 and cant get the interior doors to get close to the inside wall corner.... I tried removing the casing but it still doesn't help. Is there a setting to allow it to get within an 1 1/2" of the corner?
