Possible cause is it's using the Intel Video card instead of the Nvidia card? Have you set?- Nvida control panel, manage 3D settings, program settings, add- add chief there and run through the settings. While in there under global settings -Power Management-prefer maximum performance. My Spectre only has an Intel card and it manages to run X11, I set Windows Power management to Performance on the rare occasions I do that-even then many operations are sluggish so I don't do any heavy lifting there with 11. My Sager has zero issues. Your GTX is a whisper faster than mine so should be adequate (Sager does not have an Intel card).

Here's one way -I run into issues with shower walls all the time, even with the new ones (update your sig to X11 please BTW) I made some symbols that are basically overcoats for walls. Was a solid that was exploded, in my case I made each panel a different material but you don't need that. Then converted to a symbol. I can then place this on top of wall sections allowing for proper 3D look and still get framing (which usually needs a little edit) In this case the stucco material needs to be set to global mapping. Sample with full overcoat on one wall and just the symbol on the other. Is this what you are looking to do? w_overcoat.zip

Well certainly don't continue here-you do have a previous thread about the problem though-might just use that and since the OP was told to search and someone even suggested making a laptop sticky-maybe someone with time on their hands can post some links to appropriate threads as an edit to a post on the first page?

Shame on every one of us, including me, who posted to this thread-except for the first 3 or 4 posts. Those advised the newbie to search the forum. Another thread in Tips has the same suggestion. Now and for a while a search of the forum for laptops will bring this thread to the top of the list-4 pages of hijack while Builtrights original thread on his problem collects dust where I doubt all suggested diagnostic steps were followed AND I seriously doubt that a drive will solve a display issue. Then we tell newbies to read "how to get good answers" We should all know better.

No not an MSI-my computers are listed in my signature-both are laptops. As Eric noted there is a lot of information from Professionals already on this forum. F1 key calls up the help based on tool you have open (not unlike searching the forum -note PM in signature stands for "private message"

How to make drawer box different material than drawer front
MarkMc replied to dskogg's topic in General Q & A
Some info on the originals here-using shelves Nowadays I insert a shell with either 5 or 6 thin sides as custom door symbols into the back of the cabinet as "side panel inset". Downside to that method is the automatic description for each cabinet becomes "P" peninsula. I still prefer it to using shelves and have that as a default. It allows more freedom when dealing with other accessories, looks a bit cleaner. I have a couple of cabinet label macros I used to use and just need to update those and newer ones I'm working on to account for the change in automatic description. That will likely mean that I'll need a couple of peninsula cabinets with labels in the user library as I'll just override that option completely in the macro. The downside to using shelves is they end up in the "accessories/inserts" section of a schedule and IMO make it harder to add other accessories. Since either can be set as a default AND most cabinets with accessories should go into a user library anyway it's a pick your poison sort of thing. Note-just remembered that using the back has allowed me to make cabinets with a chase in the top back for vent ducts which is handy to check clearances and get a detail for mfg. -
I just use cabinets-if there are parts of the appliance I need like a grill for a sub, I make them into cabinet door symbols with technique Eric mentions. Paneled dishwasher- just from a cabinet

How to make drawer box different material than drawer front

Someone could not open and asked about it. The plan-it's in X11 since both David and I have it in our signatures-when in doubt read the sigs -
Joe I can understand why it is a PIA for someone like you that has a lot of macros and likely more than a few that reference others. I'm with Michael on this, just changed those I needed mostly as they came up (granted I don't have nearly the number you do) and continued as suggested. Most of the better reference I've run into concurs about lower case for methods those and those that don't explicitly suggest using lower case still do in all examples- excerpt from the "Programming Ruby The Pragmatic Programmer's Guide" I'd be surprised if you hadn't come across it in your readings. OTOH I'm with you for having as much access as possible to variables.

How to make drawer box different material than drawer front

OK, once- you really want to go through the pain of dissecting from the instructions, will learn more. Sounds like you've already got a start on symbol control. It's just a matter of seeing what is available, what can I make it do that it was not intended to do, and some trial and error (which is the useful part for next time) Any way here is plan. How to make drawer box different material than drawer front

It existed in X10, would have to check back for X9 (I know it was possible to hack in 9 but may not have been as easy) Maybe you want to add edge tape to the faces of the box too, no? Doesn't work as well with 5/8 but doable- vertical tape is done with legs, retain toe kick -need symbols for each specific height set not to resize height. Horizontal top-changed separation to side panel inset-custom door symbol Did the bottom with just a door symbol since that looks ok. -
I mentioned previously that I had a laptop and some ports would use the nVidia card and some ports used the Intel card. It did not matter what Chief was told, the monitor used the Intel card so 3D views when using that port did what you describe. The way to check is open the nvidia control panel and see what card the montior is using-I don't have a second set up for that machine any longer so this doesn't show the problem.

Cabinet Default, Front sides Back...select drawer then appliance/door/drawer; specify-Drawer Box/Pullout -
Selected roof planes, show on floor above-floating dormer was no issue. For auto dormer add wall on attic floor, change the wall to attic, place dormer.

Hinges can be placed in the door DBX. Brackets-while in plan view-bump against the wall, while selected, center, on the glass wall. After placing one you can add more using transform replicate, copy, move At least in X10, don't remember if there are special issues in 8 but I doubt it.

Yes it will import PDF (and for the money it should :) OTOH it won't convert raster to dwg, preserve any type of text as text, calibrate for accurate dimensions some of the things I found useful with the one I mention. Here from Autodesk... About Importing PDF Files

Update on where I am with this now. I ended up getting Print2CAD in January because it was on sale and the graebert plugin cost more than I thought for a perpetual license. It offers more features than any other I've come across but at first they were lost on me. It all was a bit too complicated and all the help is in videos (I prefer a PDF) Yesterday they had a free webinar which was timely since I had a PDF survey that I wanted to get real text from and couldn't figure it out. After the webinar I had a much better understanding of what settings I need and what I don't. With a little fiddling I got the survey converted and ALL text and numbers were placed on a new layer by the program. Found out it also can calibrate a pdf to make dimensional accuracy perfect (yes perfect), can recognize walls if poché, can convert raster sections among other things. Not the cheapest thing out there (on sale right now though) but I'm pleasantly surprised at this point. Again not a cheap option in the short term.

That had more to do with the ML and CL this was a 3D question.

Someone emailed me about this, then told me it couldn't be done, said tech even said so? In any case since I had this ready in case they did come to the forum as I told them I'm posting it here. (I only do individual support for clients-but happy to help out on here when I can ) Schedule Comments lists what was used for each. Not much here really- set shelves to manual, then use DBX to control what and how they are sized, placed, and roll out when open. ROs in cabinets.plan

Good call, I must of gotten lost in the rabbit hole.

The sanest way is with two cabinets, a custom countertop and a molding to close off the toe. You can block it when done. The drawers won't open- to do that you need a bunch of custom symbols. One for the drawer front (in every door style you want to use it), one for the drawer box, another for the cabinet box. It's doable - if you want to learn to make symbols-read up on it in the help and reference manual. Then have a go at it, when you run into problems and have some idea what they are post back here with problems you run into and I'll (or someone) will help you dig out. WARNING-royal PIA this one. (PS I would not ever install one of these even if it meant losing the job)
