Ya, I did do it before...but sure, it does facet the curve, but those radii in the OP's picture are quite small so the curves looked pretty good.

Sure looks like a pretty straight-forward roof that auto-build should easily do if you set things up right. Before you auto-build the roof simply select the walls where you want a gable to be and open the wall DBX... go to the roof panel and select the box for Full Gable wall... then build the roof.
-
That is Art-Deco style. Yes it can be done automatically, but with a trick of some sorts... You'd have to build invisible walls/room dividers 18" (or whatever overhang you want) outside your building walls with curved corners in the shape that you'd want the roof to be, then set your auto build roof overhang to just an inch or two.

Can Auto Roof be set for an angled cantilevered fascia
DzinEye replied to rgardner's topic in General Q & A
I did it automatically too. Just used room divider for the walls, set the exterior 'room' to have no floor or ceiling. -

Am I misunderstanding? -

What I'm suggesting does just that. If I understand correctly, Ryan said he used a patio room with railing for the angled walls to define that roof shape. -

Not sure I'm quite following this, but if you set the roof panel for whatever wall type you use for the angled walls to 'high shed/gable' it should form the roof as desired. -
Very true!...even when he's cussing out Chief...LOL

Thank you for throwing out that reminder Steve! I need to do that with all you guys who have YouTube channels...

It sounds like it's not completing the import process. Is it waiting for some input from you? Do you get through all the various dialogue boxes that pop up in the import process asking what layers you want things to go on etc.? How big is the drawing file?
-
In all seriousness though, pretty sure you can use HTML to do what you want, per the <> button above. A bit too much work in my opinion.

LOL... geez guys... you're too easy. Especially you Robert...of all the people on this forum I thought you'd get a kick out of my goofy answer. I was surprised when Michael played along, but I see you're not totally sure if I was or not. I thought it was a perfect Chief forum work-around answer, I couldn't resist. Maybe the fact that you first played along Michael, is what threw Robert for a loop. Double whammy

To get the indent, insert a base cabinet and change it's materials to 'insulation air gap'

As Graeme said, PDF is the way to go. You should be getting structural etc. as PDF... print yours in PDF and compile in PDF editing software....there are many to choose from. There are free PDF readers, but I think you'll have to pay for anything that offers compiling and other editing features. Wise investment though... I use it every single day. Importing that many PDF's to Chief ... you'd bring your computer to it's knees.

How can I send 3D cameras to Layout while retaining aspect ratio?
DzinEye replied to kylejmarsh's topic in General Q & A
Learned the hard way some time ago. I did an extra late night getting presentation drawings ready, and in my case, the live views of orthographic overviews showed up exactly as I wanted them on my screen in Layout. Printed my PDFs and sent off to the printer. Picked up my prints in the morning and every single view was dramatically moved in the prints... total garbage. Had to reschedule my meeting. Never again.- 24 replies

In the image in which you said you stretched it and it didn't work, it appeared to me that you painted the whole wall.... which means that the yellow stripe is down below the tub edge. You need the material region or backsplash or whatever area you create to stop at the top of the tub. Also, as I said before it doesn't matter if you move the tiles up or down, the pattern repeats, so eventually it will get to the right place. If you moved it the same as I did (-42), try instead (-21")... where does it show the yellow band?
-
Mine is on a Wall Material Region
-
You need to repaint the material after you change it's definition (vertical offset)
-
The pattern repeats infinitely up and down and side to side, so it's just a matter of you scootching the pattern down to where you want it using the vertical offset. You could move it up, or you could move it down, either way you'll get the result you want... just need to play with the distance to get it where you want it.

Green & Purple Fill Patterns on New Monitors
DzinEye replied to BryceEngstrom's topic in General Q & A
Your screenshot shows as all black fill lines on my monitor. I'm no tech-pro, but my guess is it's most likely something to do with compatibility between your graphic card driver and monitors since these are TV's not monitors. -
Be sure to brag to the client that you only used the finest 12,000 face count terry-cloth robes and towels.

You could put the 'love toilet' where the tub is, and then give them each their own private tub with a window back where the toilets are
